Eat Up Downtown

Downtown Vision Inc. (DVI) is once again sponsoring Eat Up Downtown...this year, the event has been extended and will take place from August 9 to August 22.

Folks can dine at over 20 restaurants downtown for just $25 per person

Hm, now to find some people to go to a few of these places with. I think this is a phenomenal promotion that they do to expand the clientele downtown.

Stephen, hadn't you heard, Zodiac is open nights now! And they have a full bar! They have trivia on Thursday nights that is getting a good response and usually live music on Friday nights. Check them out folks! Their move was a catalyst for huge success!

The take that I have on it (and yes it's a very skewed one because I'm quite new to the workings of the city), is that anything that allows people to get out and involve themselves in their community (I'm thinking all of Jacksonville, not just the downtown proper), is a good thing. So the name isn't exactly as specific as we'd like, but it's a chance for people to get out and spend some money at some local places (with a few chains interspersed). It's hopefully a good thing all around. Don't forget to tip your servers! (That is not in response to the Chicago Pizza thread. lol)

urbanspoon shows Zodiac Grill open for dinner Wed-Sat. Lunch Mon-Sat. Breakfast Mon-Fri.

All of us Leos are going to the Leo Birthday Party at Zodiac Bar & Grill except we don't know for sure if it's tonight or August 31st. My flier which I've had for several days says August 31st and my friend's flier which she picked up presumably last night says it's tonight. I believe tonight's the night afterall. The party is free for Leos all others pay $10.00 but again I'm reading from my flier so hard to know for sure. I guess anything goes. It's close and hopefully the rain won't deter. Be there 7pm - until!
