Just some of my thoughts after reading the I-10 / 95 Exchange posts.  Feel free to vent on this one.

If you've ever seen or heard of ramp-meters, then you know they can be very helpful on the interstate. They're in San Diego among other places. The ones I drove through were designed to let a car or 2 from the left go, then 1-2 on the right, and so forth. So everyone had a true 'turn' to get on the freeway.
But thinking about that, they only help getting ON the interstate. Not much for exiting, although they will pull you over there if you try to snake your way around a line.

That said, I absolutely cannot stand the 'lane-blockers'!

Not at all.  So long as you only go the speed limit in the appropriate lane.

(Segway into another major peeve)

Highways (read interstates, not Blanding Blvd) that have 3 lanes - The right lane is the driving lane, the center lane is a 'passing' lane, as is the outside (left) lane.  I haven't read a driver's manual in a while, so the state might have a different take on this subject.

The assumption (for me at least):
Right Lane - Speed Limit Drivers Only, getting on and off the i-state.
Center Lane - 5-10 miles Over the Limit.  Right Lane drivers, if you have to pass do so at the appropriate speed in the center lane - that's why you have an accelerator - use it.
Left Lane - Haul Ass Lane - Everyone else, if you want to use the lane, use it properly - go fast.  If you see someone wanting to go faster, then politely move over before they start riding your butt, and don't start riding the butt of someone in the center lane.  Move over, let the faster car pass and then go back to where you were.

I make it sound so simple.

Annoying drivers are the ones who...
1. ...drive endlessly with their blinker on.
2. ...refuse to use their blinker at all.
3. ...tailgate in the right lane.
4. ...cuts in front of another driver only to slow down.
5. ...spend an eternity straddlng the line while changing lanes.
6. ...toss cigarette butts out of their vehicle.
7. ...deliberately speed up to keep people from merging into traffic.
8. ...do not properly tie down their cargo.
9. ...drive with their high beams everywhere, blinding oncoming drivers.
10. ...hold up traffic in a parking lot because the driver is talking to somebody or taking forever to let somebody out...

Sorry Non-Redneck, on a three lane road the right lane is the "I'm going to turn right soon" lane.  The center lane is the "I'm not going to turn for a long time and don't want to stop and accelerate all the time"  lane.  The left lane is the "I'm going to turn left soon lane."

AND, much to everybody's annoyance, I am going to go the speed limit or below in any one of these lanes.  It's an UPPER limit, not a lower limit!

On a two lane divided highway I will be in the right hand lane except to pass someone going further below the speed limit than I am.

Go the speed limit and you will never have to worry about red light cameras either.
When all else fails hug the dog.

Talking on a cell phone in the left lane anywhere.........including the Interstate!

Drivers who dont know you can turn left on red off of a one way street onto another one way street is one of my peeves.

As long as the left turn isn't you know, going the wrong way and there' not a "do not turn on red" sign, it's perfectly legal to do so. (as long as no one's coming)

Typically there aren't any left hand turns on the interstate - that's why I qualified it.  I'm not sure what the correlation between speeding and running red lights is, but point taken.

It's OK, though, I will tailgate you in the left hand lane, taking my own chances with the radar guns and red light cameras, hoping you will eventually show some courtesy and move over, but you probably won't.  You'll continue to let traffic pass you on the right, while backing up everyone else in the left hand lane.  After a bit of tailgating and angry staring into your rearview mirror, you will harden your stance and either slow down or brake-check me, which isn't a big deal to me, I can see the frustration in your face.  Now it's a game to me.  You are being stubborn and I'm being contemptuous.  When we finally get home we'll tell our significant other about the jack-ass behind/in-front of me.  And tomorrow, we'll do the same again.

I have a special dislike for people who are driving through Five Points on Park Street and come to a complete stop --- where there is NO [BLEEPING] STOP SIGN!!!

NOT USING the damn blinker is my biggest pet peeve.

It really bugs me when other drivers don't do as I wish.

Reed and Jaxson already have mentioned the non turn signal idiots. Other drivers that inconsistently use they turn signal are even more dangerous; I guess they think that some times are important the use the turn singal, and others are not. What about senile old people that don't know that they can make a right turn on a red light, with no "no turn on red" sign? I can go on this thread forever with numerous driving pet peeves!
