Downtown Jacksonville received a very notable honor, the Internationa Downtown Association's Downtown of the Month Award. Who would've thought?! It is a giant organization of city downtown's around the world, that swap ideas and learn from each other. This is just another hint that downtown Jacksonville is on its way, at a slow pace, but its trying.

This is pretty cool.

Are Downtown Vision, Downtown Action, JEDC or Metro Jacksonville members of IDA?

Yes, DVI ias a member.  Membership is open to anyone.

Jason

I wasn't aware of that organization.  Thanks for the info Reed.

Steve

It's a decent resource (it would be better if we paid and got full access).  That's actually where I got the idea of Reverse angled parking under the Hogan st skyway.

No problem Jason, I will snoop on it tonight while working 2200 to 0600, ugh. I like the photo they used, BoA is lit up, the Friedship Fountain works and looks really good. Hopefully this is another sign of the times to come, Peyton, wake the heck up fool! If we could land an energy company here, we'd be going really vertical. OKC has Devon Energy and is planning an over 40 story tower, go OKC! Anyways, this is quite an honor, we may not see it again. Other international cities will see this and say, well, may be we need to look into investing in downtown Jacksonville.
