Axemen break attendance record for the 2nd week in a row

The day got underway with Carrabbas Italian Grill presenting the US Air Force Induction Ceremony with Lt. Col. Tucker from Moody Air Force base swearing in the class of new recruits. For 5 minutes of what can only be described as silent emotion, the Axemen player and fans stood and sat silent as they witnessed young men and women take the pledge that would start their military careers. Then as the last note of the star spangled banner faded out the uproar of applause and ovation defended the field. It was all the Axemen players needed to find enough adrenalin to open the game with the first try of the day and never be headed.

Fans continued to stream in the gate for most of the first quarter and by the time the first half was over, just over 2300 fans were enjoying the on-field action and the sideline routines of the Axe Maiden cheerleaders who also handed out coupons for Carrabbas Italian Grill, Baileys Powerhouse Gym and Whisky River at the Town Center.

As the last fan collected their prize from the half time raffle the teams again turned on the action for the second half with amazing speed and power and it continued until the dying minutes with the Axemen up 30 to 10 that confirmed a playoff berth for the team. They will now travel to Aston, PA this coming weekend and the result will determine home field seedings.

There were even a few celebrity sighting with the Jaguars own local hero, Rasheen Mathis coming down from the stands for a few photos on the field.

The 2300+ crowd set a new record for an Axemen home game for the second week in a row after last weeks approx 2100 crowd.
