We’ve just gotten word that a pedestrian near Othello Station has run headfirst into the side of a light rail train.

I think this proves that pedestrians are unsafe and should be banned from city streets.

Seriously, though. It sounds like the person has “facial injuries” from running into the side of the train, but will be okay.

It’ll be a while before we get used to these.

When I stop laughing I'll try and calculate just how dangerous these things would be here!

That's almost happened to me driving through downtown about 10 different times. The bums look at you, see you coming, and then still walk right out in front of you anyways, right in the middle of the road not at a crosswalk, and giving you a hateful glare (and sometimes the finger) the whole time. :o Thank God and Brembo I haven't hit one yet, but I've had some really close calls.

I guess I have been spared on both counts :)  I dont think I would want to walk face-first or in any other configuration , into a train, Lightrail or not.  Also hope I never encounter one of these sketchy pedestrians.

Gee whiz Ock................more ammo for the masterminds of our transit system! The bovine clowns in charge will make note of this and use it against us ::) Chris.......had the same thing happen to me several times turning onto 8th, heading for Three Layers, light was green for me and they just tip toed out and looked at me the whole time they were wobbling across! I go into Springfield and I drive defensively bigtime!

Bet the guy who walked into the side of the streetcar was talking on his cellphone or texting at the time.  Should be a law against walking while distracted.

Saw a guy texting while walking run into a lamppost in 5 Points last year.  Cool Dude went flying one way, phone went flying the other.  All of us who saw it happen almost hurt ourselves laughing.

LOL.. Dogwalker,,, I remember you scolding me for texting when I left School 4 one day.  hehe.. you're right though.. its a bad distraction particularly if you drive.  Im glad I was not the person that ran into the Lamppost.. that HAD to be embarrassing .
