Has anyone been paying attention to the AFL. Yes I know. Its indoor football and the players might not be up to NFL standards. But its still an exciting game thats pretty much packing the arena..and why? Because they are WINNING! Pay attention Jaguars. Thats how you fill seats. The Sharks are 7-2. Its fast paced. Its fun. The fans get to interact with the players.  And the prices are reasonable.  Hardly any mention on the main stream media about them even though we have a QB who has the all time Touchdown record for AFL QB's.  I support the team.

Plenty are, have & will be though!  I don't expect Dallas Baker to be with the team much longer given his performances of late - he's like a man amongst boys out there & his sound bites indicate that this is an audition.  It's cheap fun & I'm glad that it's indoors during the summer months, but bring on fall!  Go Sharks.  Go Jags.

Went to one game and had a blast.  Tailgating at the fairgrounds is pretty good.  Sat in the cheap seats $15 and had a good view of everything...
In a boat at sea one of the men began to bore a hole in the bottom of the boat. On being remonstrating with, he answered, "I am only boring under my own seat." "Yes," said his companions, "but when the sea rushes in we shall all be drowned with you."

What should the Jaguars be paying attention to exactly?

A winning team fills seats..Period. It doesn't matter what certain player from what certain school. The team wins. The fans support.

Dallas Baker was probably their best offensive player at the game I saw (the most recent home game).  There is maybe one receiver who is better than he is.  I love Sharks games and can't wait to go to the next home game.

Has any one seen any attendance numbers for the Sharks or the other teams around the league?

Sharks are 3rd in the league in attendance... behind Tampa and Orlando(who has a losing record)

Just looked it up and according to the site I found, the Sharks are averaging 10574.

Tampa leads the league averaging 14k. After that, there is a cluster of teams averaging 8-11k a game that includes the Sharks. There are some averaging as little as 3-5k per game.

St. Auggie

Imagine how they will pack the stadium in two years when Tebow is out of the NFL and playing for the Sharks (insert stirring the pot emoticon)!!

I guess it's all in what you demand as a sports fan. I prefer to watch football being played at it's highest level. That is why I go to Jaguar games. The Sharks are entertaining but it is simply a minor league for guys not good enough to play in the NFL. There might be a guy here or there that makes it to the NFL but they will be few and far between.

I was going to say it is like comparing the Suns to the Marlins and saying you would rather watch the Suns play but at least in minor league baseball you could be watching a potential superstar like Mike Stanton.

The truth is there is nothing for the Jaguars to learn from the Sharks.

Dedicated fans fill the seats.. Period.  I do agree with the "certain player" from a "certain school" doesn't matter though!  The number of new season tickets sold this year for the Jags would sell out the Sharks game easily.

Anyways, back to the Jax Sharks.  I went to the home opener.. it was fun and entertaining.. A little different, but football nonetheless.

The USFL needs to come back!

Tickets are ridiculously cheap so it makes a good night out.  We purchased "season" tickets for 8 games at $117 for two people ~$7 per game = good cheap fun and gets my husband through the drought until NFL season starts

Is the implication here that the Jaguars aren't trying to win?  Or that their ticket prices are in some way unreasonable compared to the rest of the NFL?  I don't understand it.
