Guys, we live in Florida. It is to our advantage to make the opposing team wear darker colored uniforms than the home team. dark clothing absorbs heat. That is the same reason the jaguars have the shaded side of the stadium as the Home Team's side. Other than Houston, most of the teams we play are not use to the hot humid climate here. Make them sweat.

Yeah I forgot how hot it is here in October, at night.

I agree with Black would be cool for the Monday Night Game. Besides Fisher has said that this is their second home stadium, so they should be comfortable in white. ;)

I'm sad to see the black go, but haven't we traditionally had bad luck with it?  Hopefully they will still make black fan jerseys!

Not always...I think we were 3-0 in black in 2006 (Colts, Giants, Steelers).  I know we lost to the Colts in black in '07 and can't recall offhand if we wore black in any other games that year.  You can still get a black jersey from the Jaguars team shop or NFL Shop, but it's in the old (pre-2009) fonts and style, of course.

QuoteWith the deals they are giving there are really few excuses left.

Exactly. Plus Weaver/Jaguars have donated over 40 million dollars to the local community. The Players is at 35 in all its time here. Then there are the players, MoJo, Boselli, even Coughlin with his Jay Fund gives back 2 mil a year. If the Jags were not here, who would fill those shoes?

Buy some seats, with the 30 month plan its a deal.

They are currently at just under 35,000 season tickets sold or renewed (over 10,000 NEW).  Plus 2,140 in group/single game sales (div/10).  Although it seems to have been a slow couple of weeks, they still appear to be on the ~500/week pace needed.

Go Jags.

Haha - Sims-Walker is at it again!  I love this guy.
Jags Nights
QuoteThey're called "Jags Nights" and they are hosted by current Jacksonville Jaguar receiver Mike Sims-Walker. It's a chance to get together with current Jags players, free of charge, and hang out for an evening of fun. This wouldn't be surprising if it was a photo op orchestrated by the team. But in the case of Sims-Walker, he came up with this idea, sending invitations thru his twitter page, to help create a deeper connection between the team and the fans and get them excited about their team.

You've heard me say before having an NFL team in the city where you live is special. This is another reason why. There are only 32 of us. New season ticket sales crossed the 10,000 mark, but there is much work to be done. Team Teal has come up with great incentives to consider season tickets, but those programs end soon. Let's continue to pull together to make sure the Jaguars call Jacksonville home for years to come.

Sims-Walker Treats Fans to Food & Fun at Whisky River
QuoteJACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Mike Sims-Walker is quickly becoming a fan favorite for his generosity off the field.
On his Twitter page, the Jaguars wide receiver invited fans to join him and some of his teammates at Whisky River in the St. Johns Town Center on Wednesday night to watch an NBA Playoff game between the Celtics and Magic.
Sims-Walker picked up the dinner tab for the estimated 100 fans that showed up, and this isn't the first time he's done something like this.  He calls these events "Jag Nites," and within the last couple months he has treated fans to a movie, bowling, and other nights of watching basketball games at local restaurants.
If you'd like to attend the next Jag Nite, all you have to do is follow this up and coming star on Twitter.  His screen name is @MikeSimsWalker.

That is pretty cool of him to do that.

I think that is great what MSW is doing to connect with the fans, but it makes me wonder why more players don't do that.  Shouldn't the players want to connect with their fans in settings other than practice or autograph sessions?  I hope to be at the next MSW event.

I think some of the players probably like the privacy or have families. Alualu has two kids and a third on the way.

MSW seems like a guy who likes the interaction.

Several other players have been present at all the MSW events.  I know Osgood and Dillard were there repeatedly, among others.  MSW is just the driving force behind them.

And some other players have done community outreach such as when Garrard was tweeting to give away tickets to the first fans to meet him at a particular location last season.

NO TEAM does more community outreach than the Jaguars.  I don't think it's even close.

Yeah Sims-Walker is a really amazing guy both on and off the field. Him and the other double name, Jones-Drew, really make the team.

Keep up the ticket sales pace and lets win us some games!
SunRail, Florida's smart transit idea. :) (now up on the chopping block) :(

Mike Thomas also has been at these events.

BTW as of today the Jags are 74% of the way to the blackout avoidance number of tickets sold.
