What's the typical "week of" single game expectation? That may not matter, but I'm really believing that we could be looking at NO blackouts in '10.  Too optimistic?

This is from today's Ask Vic column on jaguars.com:

Craig from Malaga, Spain
How good is good on the ticket sales? The thought of losing this franchise is devastating.

Vic: Sales, from what I’ve been told, are steady. The situation is good enough that I detect optimism for the first time in awhile. Don’t, however, discount CFO Bill Prescott’s warning, “We have a long way to go.” Yes, they still have a long way to go, but the current indicators are cause for optimism. I genuinely believe the general bowl is going to be sold out for the start of the season. My concern is for the club seats.

OK - they're up to 34,159 as of today.  In addition, there is another indicator on the fuel meter displaying Group/Single game sales - which breaks out to a per game average @ +1,675.  Collectively, that jumps them 3,374 in one week! I wonder where the push came from that yielded 1,699 new season tickets sold since last Thursday - mini camp?  Go Jags.

That is a terrific one-week leap forward.  Could be a combination of mini camp, post-draft response, the rollout and promotion of Teal Deals, the pending 5/31 deadline for the 30/30 plan, and just momentum that has been building throughout the offseason.

Also, I bought another one, which clearly was highly influential on the community at large  :)

I was a season ticket holder for 10 years and then didn't renew as my son was entering college and we became very budget conscious. For some reason the wife considers season tickets a "miscellaneous expense".

Anyways, I bought two tickets this week and locked them in for 3 years. With the deals they are giving there are really few excuses left.

Maybe once people realized Tebow wasn't coming here and we might be spared NONSTOP, ENDLESS, FAWNING, WRETCH-INDUCING stories about him and his fundamentalism in the Times Union and local news, they felt comfortable buying some tickets. (And I'm a UF graduate!)

9 of the 10 home games GUARANTEED TEBOW-FREE!  ;D

Good selling point!   ;D

Thinking of actually breaking bread and buying some tickets this year.  I'm a Gator fan first, Jag fan second but I would hate to see them move east.

At least we're guaranteed one sell out game, then ;)

Hmm - the only way they could move east would be London - that doesn't appear to be in the cards - I presume that you meant west(?).

It's all moot anyway.  I predict that they'll sell out everything except the preseason games.  Wayne Weaver is NOT going to move the team.  Someone else could/would.  The concentration/effort will ultimately need to shift toward an ownership group that is commit ed to keeping the team in JAX once Mr. Weaver is ready to step away. Even if we have a packed house every week, there will be wealthy people without ties to this fair city that see viability elsewhere.  TODAY, WHO LOCALLY COULD/WOULD RUN THE SHOW IF NOT WAYNE?

Is there a rule in the NFL now that states that a city cant buy a team? I know the city of Green Bay owns the team, I would assume they were just "grandfathered".  Otherwise I would imagine most cities would buy their teams.

I know former Barnett CEO Charlie Rice once tried to buy a team, pre-Jaguars, but NFL franchises cost a lot less then and he's at least as old as Mr. Weaver.  I understand that Tony Boselli has been working on trying to get a consortium of Jacksonville-based investors together.
