The story was all over democraticunderground pretty much from the very beginning (not by me but others). There's definitely a strong perception there that Jax continues to struggle with brown people and anything not considered mainstream Christianity.

I honestly do not think that a boycott would work.  For every person who stopped patronizing the barber shop, there would be three people from FBC who would be more than happy to take their place in the barber's chair.  Besides, we would not want to turn this guy into a martyr!

Most of the people who have posted comments at the end of the story make me ashamed to be alive.  I really should stop reading them.

I completely agree. I'm hoping I haven't relocated to a hotbed of ignorant conservatism. Although I did have fair warning with the anti-choice license plates...

don't worry...its not much different than many parts of suburban Atlanta

My guess is you can probably thank Arizonans for keeping Jax off the national front page when it comes to giving minority groups pause.
Hey!  Whatever happened to just plain ol' COMMON SENSE!!

Hmmph. Worried about perception of intolerance, eh? So, the intolerance itself is just peachy, as long as nobody finds out about it? These people disgust me.
