even back then the media was cruel to good ole Cowford.....er I mean Jacksonville! Go Jags! i got my season tickets. do you have yours?

The negative press and speculations of other pundits may actually have served us. Jacksonville loves jacksonville some football. People are buying.

I'd bet we have fewer than three blackouts this season. Perhaps even zero.

The press will do what they do, but our stadium will be fuller than many.

From a waiting list of 100K to risk of blackouts. Wonder if the media will start talking about the LA Bucs

Man...the comments following that Tampa Bay article read eerily like stuff you see on jacksonville.com. Win and we'll come, put a quality product on the field, etc. Didn't they win a Super Bowl?

I absolutely LOVE having the Jaguars. I try to go to every home game and am planning on hitting an away game this year as well. Having an NFL team is a luxury...and luxuries can be expensive, but this one is well worth it for Jacksonville's long term growth.

See you at the game! Go JAGS!!

Does anyone know if they plan to do any more 'select-a-seat' events?

None scheduled...  however mini camp is this weekend and is open to the public.  There will be ticket reps at the practice field Saturday and Sunday.

QuoteOverall the NFL has been good to Jacksonville.  The national football media, not so much.  But the problem is our own making.  If the butts were in the seats and the tarps were off the upper deck, there wouldn't be any bad national press about our ticket sales...

After much hemming and hawing, I decided I needed to spend 4500 a year on club seats and parking pass, but my wife and I are thankful for the Jags being here and we derive a lot of business as a result of the Jags being here. We are very thankful and buying 2 seats in the clubs are are mere pittance of our way to show our thanfulness.

Go Jags!!!!

I say none of this to shift the focus from what we as a community need to do to support the Jaguars, but the free pass Tampa gets is really amazing..

Don't forget about teams like Oakland, and Detroit. I'm not really feelin' the NFL commish Roger Goodell right now. To address "Jax's ticket woes" in a NFL meeting; All fine and dandy except one thing....You better make damn sure that Jax is dead ass last in ticket sales!(which it wasn't) What's that to say about Oakland, and Detroit? Please nobody give me any "legacy franchise" BS talk; Numbers don't lie!

...and don't even get me started on the stupid ass overtime "Brett Favre" rule. Can you imagine the first team to kick a field goal in overtime in the Super Bowl, game over right?!!! Nope! The other team can score a TD and win. Stupid! A sportscaster saying....."With the old rules 'team X' would have won the Super Bowl already!" Can you imagine the fan uproar?!!! It wasn't broke, and it didn't need to be fixed. Without saying it, by Goodell making that knee-jerk rule effective, he might as well had called the Saints SB win a fluke. IMO NFL pro football now has an "arena football" feel to it thanks to this dumb rule. Bring back Paul T!!!!!!!...There, I'm done with my anti-Goodell rant.

Mini camps are a great event. I would also recommend it for anyone with kids. Alot of the players seem to really enjoy signing autographs for the kids.

I'm with you I-10 East...it seems to me Goodell does want that arena football feel, especially when you also consider the "roughing the Brady" rule and other crackdowns on defenses playing defense.  I also get a strong impression that Goodell is all about promoting the marquee teams and star players relentlessly, whereas Tagliabue was much more egalitarian and an avatar for Jacksonville.

Personally, I am excited about this upcoming season with the Jags. The Jags along with the many support groups seem to have found a ticket selling combination that is working here in Jacksonville. As many other cities struggle, it appears the local fan base and businesses are getting behind our home team. Blackouts or sellouts, I consider the increased pace of tickets sales a success this season. The Jags can count on about 10 more season tickets holders in about two weeks from me. I’m still trying to convince a few more friends to jump on board so we can all sit together. Anyone want to join in?

In spite of no Tebow?  He is going to be fine and I wish him the best.  All of you gator fans who wanted to threaten the Jags to do what we mandate or else how is that workin for ya?

We are going to get after the QBs this year and I have to say I am excited.

The Jags have Darren Sharper in town today for a visit. He had 9 interceptions last year with the Saints. If we are able to sign him, it would definitely be an upgrade at the Safety position. With him, Kampman at DE, Morrison at MLB and our new tandem at defensive tackle... I think we might be back to playing good Jaguars defense. I look forward to the season. See ya in the Bud Zone

I don't think that the Tebow "non-selection" was the core issue last week with fans - rather the way it shook out & the unorthodox reach at pick ten.  I think that most feel that the organization left a lot on the table.  Denver selecting Tebow simply added insult to injury.  Once Spiller was gone, everything happened pretty quick.  Given the sense of urgency, the "wait & see" selections don't provide for much gratification in the interim.  I really wonder how much second guessing went on Friday morning (if any) - especially by Wayne Weaver.  From a business standpoint, there really were only 1.5 "rock stars" that the Jags could have realistically picked up: Spiller and Tebow.  The first fixed itself & the latter, well, "wait and see".  It goes beyond ticket sales - consider merchandise, endorsements, appearances, etc.  Given all of that, as soon as Alualu jerseys are available in kid's sizes, put me down for 1 (my daughter!)...........Go Jags

Awsome to hear stuff like this Lee.  I sit with a group of 13 friends in section #205 and have the time of my life every game.  Keep convincing your friends and lock up those 10 seats brother.
