From a passing glance, it looks a lot better.
"A man who views the world the same at 50 as he did at 20 has wasted 30 years of his life." - Muhammad Ali

In a boat at sea one of the men began to bore a hole in the bottom of the boat. On being remonstrating with, he answered, "I am only boring under my own seat." "Yes," said his companions, "but when the sea rushes in we shall all be drowned with you."

Another tiny dagger in the side of print media?
"If we bring not the good courage of minds covetous of truth, and truth only, prepared to hear all things, and decide upon all things, according to evidence, we should do more wisely to sit down contented in ignorance, than to bestir ourselves only to reap disappointment."

I like it better, seems a bit more streamlined.

Whole thing seems nicely cleaned up.

Looks great!  Too bad the Times Union is so obviously biased.  You can dress it up, but it's still a small town newspaper.  An overdose of the holy ghost and divisiveness with no venue for contrasting opinion.

After more use I am now even more happy with the design, just wish the reporting was more impressive

The new design is definitely an improvement. However, it puts even more focus on user comments, which are just horrible.

Here is a nice example of a comment about the Landing's parking issues. It's not vulgar so it was not removed, but it's just so idiotic that it should qualify for deletion.

QuoteSolve the parking problem by taking the landing and do away with it. Just push it over . This would solve a lot of downtown problems with thugs and homeless people having one less place to gather up. I have never been to the landing and don't plan on going there, I will be glad when ot is gone!!!!!

The contrast between comments on MetroJax and those of the TU website are remarkable!
In a boat at sea one of the men began to bore a hole in the bottom of the boat. On being remonstrating with, he answered, "I am only boring under my own seat." "Yes," said his companions, "but when the sea rushes in we shall all be drowned with you."

It really is a tight knit group of not terribly bright regular commentors that strangle the site.

It shuts down all reasonable conversation.

The TU would be just as well to break up the little group of hijackers.

Sigh. Agreed.
