We know it’s impossible to draw a strict line down the calendar, because time has a way of flowing forward, backward, and side-to-side. Nevertheless, this blog (and the book it will someday become), is mainly concerned with the music scene in Jacksonville, Florida between 1977 (the end of the first major Lynyrd Skynyrd line-up) to 1995 (the rise of Limp Bizkit). I have nothing at all against the music that came before 1977 or after 1995, but those eras have been well documented elsewhere.
