Well it finally has come out... Like I wrote from the top of the Andes, the nut-next-door "CHAVEZ", has found a "reason" to attack Colombia. I promise you, it will be the last thing he ever does on this earth if he goes through with it. Looks like Colombia, got at the bad guys in a cross border raid that killed the second highest ranking Commie in the land! Along with the body, came the laptop, and all the data on the $$ that the neighbor's in Cuba, Ecuador and Venezuela, have poured into knocking off Colombia. It's all because Colombia, is, believe it or not, much like the USA, very free, and very capitalist. The USA fully supports Colombia in this too and already has 3 battle groups off the coast to help. Now, being the old hippie, former military guy, what to do??? Should I go home to the hills for a 50 yard line seat? Maybe give my "other" family some volunteer help? OR, Do I stay, and fight the Transit war in Jacksonville?

March 5 (Bloomberg) -- Venezuelan tanks are moving to the Colombian border on orders from President Hugo Chavez who said Colombia's March 1 air strike on a rebel camp in Ecuador risks a regional war.
Venezuela activated the country's navy and air force in addition to the 10 tank battalions being mobilized. Chavez has pledged to support Ecuador's President Rafael Correa, who has also added troops on the border after the Colombian raid killed the second-in-command of the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia.
Chavez has accused the U.S., which he calls ``the empire,'' of being behind the attack on the camp of guerrillas hiding in Ecuador. Chavez has called for the political recognition of guerrilla groups.
``The idea behind this mobilization isn't against the Colombian people, but against the expansionist aspirations of the empire,'' Venezuelan Defense Minister Gustavo Rangel Briceno said today in comments broadcast by state television.
The battalions should be in place today and will help reduce contraband food and fuel sales to Colombia, General Jesus Gonzalez said during the same press conference.
Colombia said March 3 it found evidence on the laptop of slain rebel leader Raul Reyes that showed Venezuela had funneled at least $300 million to the rebel group, known as the FARC. Human-rights groups accuse the guerrillas of killing civilians, using illegal land mines and terrorist bombings.
General Oscar Naranjo, Colombia's police chief, said the computer files also indicated Ecuadorean Security Minister Gustavo Larrea had been in contact with Reyes in a bid to get Correa involved in the release of rebel-held hostages to boost his political standing.
Chavez and Correa have denied the allegations.

(Mr. Chavez... I have a my $$ on a Colombian-Israeli K-Fir with YOUR NAME ON IT!)

Bad news at JAXPORT? and at HOMEPORT? You bet... Besides being infamous for drugs, a business long since
chased off to someplace else... Colombia is:
The 2nd largest importer of oil to the USA
Largest importer of Coffee to the USA
Worlds 2nd largest and the number ONE importer of Coal to the USA
24% of ALL IMPORTED FOOD in the USA comes from Colombia
More then 75% of the worlds Floral imports come from Colombia
3 largest Latin American Economy...
Spell much of this as J A X P O R T...

Yeah I have several friends in Cartagena who are pretty freaked out right now. I wonder what the democrat response is to this whole situation. Chavez sounds like another Sadaam/Fidel in the making.

Everytime the stock market dips, there's an attack.  I guess I'll jump back in when Georgia attacks Florida which from what I've been reading about the water war might be sooner then you think.

QuoteSo I guess we all disagree with 'pre-emptive' military invasions now?

I think so Stephen, The trouble is, these fools have been launching on Colombia since before 1982 when I got to watch heavy stuff come off the mountain and crash into the government buildings. Colombia has chased them out and now the friendly future Fidel's on each side are re-arming them and sending them back in with fresh troops and Cuban supplies.

My own feelings is Quito, would make a quaint Colombian tourist town, and that Gulf to the East, a nice Colombian Oil Field. Maybe "CITGO" could become "COLGO"!

Hit em fast and knock em out! NOW!
