Although the US technically holds Taiwan as an ally; don't know why in the world we'd target our 'ally' over our 'adversary,' but I'm sure you've got some insight to that.

Talk about being American ally there is a good saying (even that is by Henry Kissinger) that goes "It may be dangerous to be America’s enemy, but to be America’s friend is fatal".

Lately USA have been effing bunch of US "ally" from Turkey,Israel,Bosnia,European Union etc.
That saying is actually true,you are more likely to get punished by US as ally then enemy.

Felt from a line joining Tallahassee, Florida, to Savannah, Georgia, on the north to a line joining Punta Rassa and Daytona Beach, Florida, on the south. Two shocks occurred, each lasting 30 seconds.
