Ooh...Ooh... I have one!  Call it... Springfield

Roar with laughter at the antics of a young white family as it tries to reburbish a home in a dowtrodden neighborhood.  Cry with them as the city bumbles from one inept decision to another...

DRAMA!!  INTRIGUE!!  COMEDY!!
In a boat at sea one of the men began to bore a hole in the bottom of the boat. On being remonstrating with, he answered, "I am only boring under my own seat." "Yes," said his companions, "but when the sea rushes in we shall all be drowned with you."

when my daughter came over today she told me told me something about part of the next twilight movie was filmed here or will be filmed here. I haven't seen any of them, There just not my thing.

I've never seen either of them, but as I understand it, Jacksonville is a (very extraneous) part of the story. Plus, one of the main supporting actresses is from Jax. She is the hot one.  ;) So there are connections...

Interesting.....

Long time?

I think it's safe to say Jax probably won't ever reach that number. It took 60 years for South Florida to grow from 600,000 to 5 1/2 million. And that's thanks to an enormous amount of money, immigration, a Hollywood type spotlight, films, tourism, etc.

The appeal of Jax is being a quieter, more hometown USA-ish place, with just enough of nearby ammenities of the bigger cities nearby.

I think most of the people here do not want to change all that is Jacksonville. We have great rural and suburban areas. We just lack that urban compliment and the smart growth plans that would sustain all three lifestyles.

Yea I woulnd want all the folks from the burbs to come to the city, but the 15 - 19yr old that is about to leave the nest should be aware of the option. When I moved out at 18 I ended up in Riverside, but could have easily ended up on a westside burb like 103rd, Normandy or Argyle.
