Does anybody know what contractor was used to do the grading at the Prime Osbourne? Can anyone out there pull the plans for the PO parking lots? If we are to save the tunnels, this is vital information, if you want to join the "OCKLACOPS," those of us that police the citys wild transit decisions, consider yourself deputized and go dig in the city hall. Inquiring minds need to know.

Make no promises Ock, but will do what I can!

Ock - All that digging in the City could get costly with official records requests. Make sure you break the piggy bank before you start down this road. City officials do not come cheap these days.
And, that $115 will save Jacksonville from financial ruin. - Mayor John Peyton

"This is a game-changer. This is what I mean when I say taking Jacksonville to the next level."
-Mayor Alvin Brown on new video boards at Everbank Field

That is true big guy..........not cheap.........but they can be bought judging by some of the things that have taken place!

As I recall the Prime Osborne general contractor/CM was a joint venture partnership LLC. I can't remember the name. Most of the CM management team have retired.

I do not know who the site contractor was. Or who the civil engineer was.

No digging involved right now mtrain, I'm trying to find something or somebody that can tell me what is behind that "wall". Of course there could be a small hole in that wall, but uh, I haven't found it yet. It's just a matter of finding out how much destruction (if any) happened. I recall the plan was simply to fill in the tunnel with debris.

Ock.hip waders and a cordless drill with a masonary bit......a long one and shazam! Inspection hole! A really good maglight would be helpfull also!

CS Foltz

Besides...........if they just filled it in, you and I both know, it can not be solid!

I didn't say that! HA! HA! Wow, you wouldn't be suggesting "subterranean vandalism," would you?

BTW, forget the hip waders, that water gets chest high.

Plan B.............inflatable dinghy! Inner tubes.....water wings......Poppy Ott's Seven League Stilts! I won't ask how you came to the conclusion regarding the water depth Ock! I haven't seen a lead line in quite sometime, but a rock and a piece of line and a tape measure......samething!

I grew up in that station and know every passage from the tunnels all the way to the boardwalk above the great vaulted ceiling. Been there done that. Hell Mom always said she didn't know my dad, but she got the number of the troop train. Hows this CS, that water is as cold as it is deep! YEAH! Look at those photos I posted. No tube, no boat, no waders... just an old swamper doing his thing.

Well they do make wetsuits big guy! Hypothermia is something to worry about.......are you sure there is no access from above? Didn't some of those things have escape's going up and out.....ladders, steps? Maybe there is a way in from another direction?

LOS ANGELES Someone once told me that fully 1/2 of the population of Jacksonville was conceived in those tunnels... THAT IS NOT TRUE! It was closer to 1/3, and God knows I did my part!

OKLAHOMA CITY

These photo's should give you all an idea of what is down there

No I know every crack in those walls, trust me, there is currently only one way in, and one way out.
Because the tunnels were underground concourses they were once clean, and had MANY exits via ramps that came up between every two tracks on a platform. Consider this end of the station had 14 through tracks, While the area where the Convention Hall sits had 15 stub tracks.

Several people have asked me what the little bump-out Kiosks in the Prime were. They were little stores for gifts, snacks, Red Cap + First Aid, magazines etc... This photo in Fort Worth T&P station coffee shop, demonstrates M/L what Jacksonville's looked like.

Makes perfect sense to me to have services spot located throughout........after all it is a Transportation System! Vents would be a possible access........but your saying that is not so...........back to Plan B. This is one reason I feel that the Prime Osburn should go back to what it was in the beginning! Not designed for Convention Center and not really efficient as it is.....not to mention parking, amenities, transportation, rail......I could go on! Best best for a Convention Center ain't there and needs to be a clean sheet design, not Train Station! This is the one time that I feel starting from scratch is in the best interest's of the taxpayers over the long haul in more ways than one!
