New Jobs on the Southside

Deutsche Bank to the rescue, adding some more jobs to the community. If anyone cares to notice, the traffic getting off of I-95 to JTB is like 10-20% of what it once was a few years back. All the cheap jobs for service were decimated, but it looks like a few more will be coming back.

Deutsche Bank announced today it will add 250 more employees to its operations center in Jacksonville, where the German-based bank currently employs more than 600. The company opened the center last year, saying it plans to employ 1,000 people by 2011.

Deutsche Bank said more than 80 percent of its Jacksonville workers were hired from the local market, including recent graduates of Jacksonville-area colleges.

The company also said it will add 27,170 square feet of office space adjacent to its existing facility at the Meridian at Deerwood office complex to accommodate the new jobs.

What I noticed is that they added more exit lanes off I-95 south and it isn't near as bad as years ago.
