Heath Ledger Found Dead in NYC at Age 28

NEW YORK â€" Heath Ledger was found dead Tuesday at a downtown Manhattan residence in a possible drug-related death, police said. He was 28. NYPD spokesman Paul Browne said Ledger had an appointment for a massage at the Manhattan apartment believed to be his home. The housekeeper who went to let Ledger know the masseuse was there found him dead at 3:26 p.m.

The Australian-born actor was an Oscar nominee for his role in "Brokeback Mountain" and has numerous other screen credits.

RIP. It's strange when somebody your age dies. 28 is so young. I wonder if this will affect the new Batman movie at all

I think the filming for the new Batman movie has already been completed.

It's always sad when someone, especially one so young dies....and the sadness is compounded when it's a result of them taking their own life. Generally ends up leaving everyone with wondering, what was so terribly wrong, that they felt that taking their own life was their only alternative...

Just an FYI, they don't think he took his life. He was battling pneumonia, and sleep deprivation. He had meds for both. The autopsy will be relesaed soon, but I believe it was accidental. My question is why was someone with money like that battling all this without an inhouse nurse?

Although it's not going to change the sad fact that he's gone, but let's hope it was accidental...as otherwise, it's harder on the family and friends.
