The subject line says it all - they are unveiling the holiday displays downtown on Monday, November 23 at 5:30 PM. It may have been an RSVP deal but it would still be cool if people showed up, especially since I decorated one of the windows. I haven't seen it from the front so I'm a little nervous... But anyone who is able should come check out the displays!

Thanks for posting! The holiday windows will be unveiled by Mayor Peyton tomorrow at City Hall at 5:30 p.m. followed by a walking tour of the windows around downtown Jacksonville. The tradition of the window displays was revived last year and they will be diplayed until January 2. There is a map on our website to all window locations. Last year's unveiling drew quite a crowd so we hope to see everyone there!

In addition, many holiday events are happening downtown in the coming weeks including the Jacksonville Light Parade including the fireworks "waterfalls" on downtown bridges, Art Walk with a free presentation of Elf in the historic Snyder Church and free carriage rides downtown, the Mayor's Holiday Festival for Senior Citizens and Great Joy!, a holiday performance by JMAC at the Florida Theatre.

Also, just to clarify, the window unveiling tomorrow is not invite-only. Anyone is welcome to join the walking tour and enjoy the windows at their leisure. Also, the displays would not be possible without the efforts of our talented local artists as well as the business and property owners who have donated the space. Please show your support to them all!
