What other downtown options are available (to the public) with upper level views?

None to the public.  Only River club and University Club have views that high.

There's a similar cafeteria in the Wachovia building (225 Water Street), but obviously not nearly that high.

Even with a limited menu, this should provide for a nice atmosphere & vantage point(s).

Too bad they don't have dinner options with an express elevator after hours - I'd imagine that they could do quite well.  Now if they could just get someone to crawl out on the ledge & screw those lights back in at the top...... ;)

Hmm, I may go there later this week for the shrimp tacos and the view.

Interesting project.  Sure beats having the space used as a private office.

I ate there once as a guest of Barnett.  It was white table cloth all the way.

My question is why do they have the serving lines against the windows?  These should be against interior walls with tables for guests by the windows.  Was this the only possible layout?

They need to be sure to have a sign in the lobby and maybe by the entry doors along the street to make people  aware its there.  It not exactly going to be obvious to the uninformed otherwise.

Looks like they have the meals priced competitively in these times so should be attractive.
Hey!  Whatever happened to just plain ol' COMMON SENSE!!

I'm wondering if this could be a test project to see if this space could be turned into a full-scale restaurant. That would be frecking sweet if that is the case.

Maybe they can eventually move this in the direction of the original Reata in Fort Worth. Prior to the 3/20/2000 tornado that put the tower it was locatied inside of in serious jeopardy, it was atop The Tower and had the best views in all of Tarrant County.

After the tornado though, they relocated as the tower was almost demolished, but has since converted into high-rise apartments.

It would be nice to have a public restaurant high rise style in Jax.

While it isn't the Sun Dial in Atlanta (which is amazing @ 73 stories), it certainly has potential & hopefully can foster some additional creativity.

stjr, I ate at this place last week.  The photo you see is a very small portion of the dining complex on the western side of the building.  The entire southern half the 42nd floor is taken up by the dining area, with unobstructed views to the south, west, and east.  There are some private conference rooms on the eastern side of the building that one can reserve for meetings.  There is a sign on the wall and another on the floor of the lobby advertising the facility.  However, building management does not allow any exterior advertising for any businesses in the building (besides BoA), not even a sandwich board.
