I trust we'll be announcing a draft date soon?

This is MY year...  8)
Title: Re: Fantasy football

The NFL season kicks off on Thursday September 7th. Invites are out to everyone so let me know if you did not get yours.

We need to solidify a draft date soon.

My schedule is tight in late August. I think people just need to throw out dates and we will see what works best for the most people.

I could do a draft late on labor day, Saturday the 27th, and the weekdays in and around those dates. Due to my lack of availability, I may be forced to auto draft this year.

It would be good to set the draft early to make sure everyone gets their keepers in and that they are valued correctly.

No wailing; no gnashing.

I'm only here to tell you that you can enjoy your 'crown' this year, but you're nothing more than a paper king.  It's not like anyone beat me last year, but I beat myself.  That won't happen again.  I'm more focused and more honed in than ever.  My comeback this year will rival the that of the '72 Dolphins.  Undefeated!

I'm going to go all George Zimmerman on all of you this year - murdering kids and acquitted of all charges.  (too soon?   I think I found a new team name though)

Ebony - I'll go ahead and pencil in Aaron Hernandez as your first pick, murderers rate higher than rapists, right?

Jack Be More - you're your own undoing.

Congro - dude, are you even still alive?

BeeTees - just keep autodrafting yourself into the bottom half of the rankings.  Good work!

The Engineers - hahahahaha

Massilon - I'm moving to RSA just so you can deliver me a turkey sandwich with my ValPacks

and finally,

Post St. - man, there's really nothing left to say.  I'm sorry that I never took you up on the bet you lost, though you offered more than once.  That's on me, not you.  Just keep your chin up, little buddy.  I like a nice, clean landing area.  Don't want it hitting the floor when I'm done.  I'll hand you the towel after I've wiped up.

Good luck to everyone this coming season.

Nah, fuck it.  Luck's not helping any of you this year.

An all right folks, most of the league still needs to sign up. I just sent out another round of invites to anyone who hasn't signed up yet. I would like to get everyone signed up by August 11th. This way I have time to fill spots if someone isn't coming back.

Keepers will be due by the 19th. If anyone is keeping a player for a consecutive year, their value will be assigned as of the evening of the 22nd according to Yahoo's average draft position for that player.

As for the draft day, I am still looking for suggestions. If no one gives any input I am just going to set it for what is best for me which will be one of the following times:

Sunday August 25th – 8PM

Monday September 2 – 8PM

Some random weekday between the August 26th and September 4th at 8PM

Monday 9/2 doesn't work....that is the FSU-PITT game

8/25 is fine

as for random evenings, the 27th and 29th are out for me

I still only have 6 people who have reclaimed their teams. If you are not coming back, please let me know so I can find replacements. If you need me to resend your invite send me a PM. I want to get the league finalized by the end of this week.

Everyone but Steve has either reclaimed their team or told me they are not coming back. I sent an email and PM to Steve but I haven't heard anything. If someone has a better way to reach him and can find out if he is playing I would appreciate it.

I sent a message last night to another MJ member about playing but haven't heard anything back yet. Hopefully him and Steve sign up to complete the league.

Don't forget to also claim your keeper for this season either here or on the league message board.

Gators312 has taken over one of the open spots. I am just waiting on Steve to be able to finalize the league. If I don't hear anything by Monday I am going to solicit for someone to take his spot.

There is some movement in draft order due to going from 14 to 12 teams. It now goes like this:

1-Bridge Troll (BeeTees)
2-Wacca Pilatka (Rashean The Fish)
3-The Lakelander (The Ebony Stud)
4-Lucasjj (Post St Playmakers)
5-Gators312 (Suburban Dwellers)
6-Steve or His Replacement (Congrotastic or unknown)
7-Danno (Johnsonville United)
8-TUFSU1 (Jack B More)
9-Cline (The Edgewood)
10-Non-Redneck Westsider (Best In The West)
11-Manasia  (Addison's Anarchy)
12-Riverside Mail (Massillion Tigers)

Well, well, well....  I'll PM you my mailing address, and if your parties are anything like the players you draft, I guess I should go ahead and make sure my tetanus shots are current be sure to have a rape kit in the trunk.

Can anyone suggest a pair of shoes to wear that go with a nice bullet proof vest?

Yes, house party planned. Plaxico's metal detector at the front door should catch the guns, Big Ben has finished counseling so the ladies should be fine, and Vick has promised not to electrocute any dogs during event hours. Ray and his boys also have a limo reserved. LT and Stanley Wilson said they're in charge of refreshments and Travis Henry is in charge of supplying protection for the frisky folks. Should be a great time. Just watch out for running backs coach, OJ.  They say he's gotten pretty good at turning toothbrushes into shanks.

I don't know if you've got 'em on the list, but could have JaMarcus and Jolly bring some of that Purple Drank....

I know J.B.  sticks to the Bud.....weiser and most of the rest just stick to the bud...  I don't really prefer either.

But a little codeine syrup and koolaid and I'm right where I need to be!

Gator312,

Philips and Carruth will have to wait.  Already promised the next spot to Cecil the Diesel. He should be getting released soon and wants the chance at a comeback. Oh, and unless he's going to turn water into rum and coke, you can leave Saint Tebow at home.

You could always invite Riley Cooper.  I hear that guy knows how to party.

Also I think every kicker that the Colts draft usually knows how to enjoy himself as well.

And you know that just in case you run out of food, you should invite over Joe Cullen...  we could always send him to Wendy's to pick up some late-night burgers and fries.

Janikowski would be offended by your kicking suggestion.

Lol, did you see the names on my party list?  The only thing Cooper would start is a riot!

I already agreed with Vick to leave the dogs in the basement (roosters are still fair game though...we'll just throw the losers on the grill). Cooper comes and all bets are off.

Gotta leave the thugs like Tebow and Cooper at home.

I posted this on the league page as well...

Everyone has reclaimed their team so we are good to go. The schedule is set and the draft is set for Sunday the 25th at 8PM. If this isn't convenient for the majority of people we can change it. As always, if you cannot make the draft, Yahoo will draft for you. I have a live draft earlier that day so the wife may go all Mrs. NRW and pull me out by the hair for trying to do this draft as well.

Only three teams have submitted their keeper so far. Please do that by the end of next week (Aug 18th). You can submit them here or on MJ. Remember if you keep a guy who you already kept once, their round value will be based on Yahoo's average draft position. You can see what that is currently by going to "Draft Central" on the league page and scrolling down to "Draft Analysis". Just take the average pick (not round) and divide by 12 to see which round they are going in. After the 18th you cannot change your keeper. Your only option is to discard your keeper which you must declare to me the day before the draft. I will then remove your keeper and you will get back your pick for that round.

I will confirm each person's keeper for their round and value in case there is any confusion by anyone.

25th is fine with me as long as the time doesn't move up from 8PM.  That will give me time to drive back from Atlanta.

All right folks I need your keeper selections. I only have keepers for 3 teams so far. Deadline for keepers is this Sunday. So either respond here, with a PM, or on the league page.

Let me know if you have any questions.

Title: Re: Fantasy football
Post by: Lucasjj on August 19, 2013, 07:50:56 AM
Here is this year's keeper list by MJ-Team-Player-Position-Round

Bridge Troll-BeeTees-Aaron Rodgers-QB-2
Wacca Pilatka-Rashean The Fish-Cecil Shorts-WR-14
TheLakeLander-The Ebony Stud-Alfred Morris-RB-14
Lucasjj-Post St Playmakers-Colin Kaepernick-QB-14
Gators312-Suburban Dwellers-N/A-N/A-N/A
Steve-Congrotastic-No Keeper-N/A-N/A
Danno-Johnsonville United-Drew Brees-QB-2
TUFSU1-Jack B More-CJ Spiller-RB-8
Cline-The Edgewoood-Andrew Luck-QB-10
Non-Redneck Westsider-Best In The West-Randall Cobb-WR-10
Manasia-Addison's Anarchists-Tom Brady-QB-4
Riverside Mail-Massillion Tigers-Ray Rice-RB-1

*Aaron Rodgers, Drew Brees, Tom Brady, & Ray Rice are all being kept for a second year. According to our keeper rules, the round they are selected in for this year is based on their average draft position according to Yahoo. The round above is based on their average pick position as of this morning. I will make it official on Thursday since that is the date I posted previously.

At this point you cannot change your keeper. However you have up until Saturday night to throw your keeper back and make a selection for that round. You must notify me though through email, the league page, or MJ.

This thread's been quiet for practically the entire month of September.  What gives?

I really don't like crowing from the top of the mountain, it usually comes with consequence, but when have I ever been lacking in confidence?

After a bit of a stumble at the start, I've now outscored the rest of the league.  It's me against the world and I'm 3-0 and taking names.

The name for this week, Rivalry Week, is PostStreetPlaymakers.  He comes into the week with a respectable 3rd place standing (should be 2nd, but The Ebony Stud has the luxury of playing in the scrubs division) and it looks to be a close one.

Looks can be deceiving.

And as we move on into another year, there is the yearly tradition of a side-bet heading into Rivalry Week.  PSP lost last year and was even kind enough to remind me about about it a few times, though I never took him up on it - a $20 tab at Dahlia's.

This year, let's keep it interesting - I'm going to put up my winnings from last year and I'm going to let you set my roster (a la 'The League')  If I win, it's $40 at Dahlia's.  If I lose, you're not out anything.  The rules for setting the roster - Every position has to be filled with an active player.  You have to submit my roster no later than 5pm on Thursday evening.  If a player is deemed unavailable between Fri & Sunday, then you have until 10am Sunday to replace him, or I will.

So?  How bad will it hurt when I beat you with the team that you select?  Or....   You could, you know, puss out and not even accept the challenge.  Your call.

Now on the clock.....  PostStPlaymakers.

Hahaha....  Normally I would agree with you, but I also have the highest point total in the league as well - after dropping an absolute bomb in Week1 - to the tune of <80pts, I've re-established myself right where I belong.  ;-)

If I'm not mistaken, it was going to take a lot more than some sugar to wash that medicine down that I gave you in week 3.

Edit:  (Just a little reminder....)

QuoteBest in the West devastated Suburban Dwellers 149.45 - 103.54 while also putting up the highest score of the week. It was an epic beating, and the 45.91-point margin of victory is the third-highest in the league this season. Josh Gordon led Suburban Dwellers with 30.80 points while Robert Griffin III brought in 15.74. Best in the West (2-1, 390.99 points) climbs into third place while Suburban Dwellers (1-2, 339.20 points) drops to ninth place.

No doubt... I was pretty distraught in the first half...

But while NRW is bragging about his points scored... Check out the points scored against me... 580????!!!!  No one is even close!  I would probably be 4-0 with a normal points against stat... arghhhhh

Trust me when I say that I totally feel you.

In another league, I'm leading the league in points and am 1-3....  I've scored the 2nd highest every freaking week, but it seems no matter who I play has a record week.  I pulled my first win by a squeaker after both Graham and Sproles lit it up.

NRW - I hope Matt Bryant can put up 6 points tonight so you can cap off your crushing defeat by doubling up my score. It should probably count as two losses since it is so bad.

The only solace I have is that Romo is my QB in my money league and his performance puts me in 1st place.

You can also find solace in the fact that i faced both Romo and Manning each in a different money league.

It's not about beating me anymore, Lake.  It's about not losing as badly as the others.  And while my regular season might be more impressive than Manning's, my post season history is about as impressive, so there's that.  Lol.

Difference is, mine are focused on winning and not their next arraignment hearing.

The focus is where it needs to be.   The BitW Team is laser focused on only performing better than our game tape from last week.

We most definitely left points on the field and are looking to correct those mistakes this coming week.  We're not playing JackBMore, we're playing The Best in the West (probably with ourselves by halftime if you don't come any better than the last 4 fools), so...

Do what you have to do during work this week to bide your time until Sunday.

busy morning sir....I finally got a minute to look on MJ...so here goes....

The rag-tag group compiled by Jack B. More this week appears to have taken down the supposed king.  All this with no good running backs, his best receiver out for the season, and his starting QB on a bye.

To his friends in the other division, Jack B. More says "You're Welcome!"

I would normally have some clever and/or witty retort to the BS you continually post, but since I've limped my sorry ass into a first round bye in 3 of 4 leagues, I'll just it / you slide.

Besides, I think we're getting used to all the talk coming out of the U followed up with a lot nothing.  If you had half a team ,you'd handle your business in clutch games like my Clemson Tigers.....   T - I -G - E - Rrrrrrrr......  wait a sec.....  nevermind.

Some of you guys in the playoffs benefit from an ACC like schedule.....soft as cotton candy.

If Suburban Dwellers had played every team in the league each week, they would be 86-57.

Best in the West would be 85-58 if they played every team every week

If Congrotastic had played every team in the league each week, they would be 76-67

Jack B. More would be 70-73 if they played every team every week

Let me be the first to concede.  Someone has discovered the rabbit's foot needed to overcome the Stud's dominance.

Have your RB and K put up 83 by 3rd. That will do it every time.

At least I'm not going out limp like Best in the West. The Stud bought his A game this week. Post Street's stick was just flat out bigger this week.

At least the Dolphins won, so not all is lost.

I made it to the championship game in both my leagues on the back of Jamal Charles. Now I am hoping Drew Brees has the worst game of his career since he is the opposing QB in both of my leagues.

I have Jamal Charles in another league. I lost in the first round of that one, so Charles' performance yesterday has benefited me by screwing up my draft position for next year. Now I'm locked in either the dreadful 5 or 6 slot of a 10 team league.

It is time to get the ball rolling on the upcoming league year. Unfortunately for all of us I invited Danno back. If we had a trophy it would be named after him at this point. All but two people have signed up. One of them is Steve, who will undoubtedly sign up the day after the deadline and Lake who already confirmed he is coming back.

The 2014 NFL season will kick off Thursday September 4th. I have the draft date set for Sunday August 31st at 1:00. This will allow the draft to take place after all of the preseason games and not interfere with college football on that Saturday. I will give Steve until August 18th to claim his team, but I hope he does it before then. All keepers need to be in by Monday August 25th.

Keeper rules are unchanged from last year but here is a refresher in case you forgot. If you are selecting a new keeper, that keeper will be your pick for whatever round you or another team drafted them in 2013. If the person went undrafted they will be your 14th round pick. If you would like to see when a guy was drafted in 2013, switch the league year to 2013 on the home page and click draft results. You can also see who you have on your final roster by switching league years and clicking "Final Rosters".

For a player kept in the previous year by you or another team, there is an inflation cost. That person's round value will be assigned based on Yahoo's average draft position (ADP) as of August 25th. I will be using the average pick not average round value. So for instance a player with an ADP of 22, it may say round 3 in Yahoo but since that is a 2nd round pick for us, they will be assigned a 2nd round value. Also picks will be rounded to the nearest whole number. So an ADP of 12.6 will be 13 and a 2nd round pick.

You do not have to select a keeper but after the deadline there can be no changes. Your only option at that point is to throw back your keeper and make a draft pick in that round. You must do this before the draft.

This is the draft order for this year based on last year's standings. It also is the keeper list for last year, what round they were kept in, and shows if the person was still on that team's roster at year end.

Just officially signed. The Ebony Stud is back. One question though. Will Hernandez clear parole before the draft? A offense featuring him, Big Ben, Ray Rice, Travis Henry, Josh Gordon and Blackmon should be pretty potent.

You do have the third pick but the Aaron Rodgers thing is reference to you keeper last year. Due to the way our keepers work, if you keep him again he will be your pick for whichever round his current ADP is since you kept him last year. You can check this on Yahoo. It most likely is the second round. You don't have to keep him though. You can select anyone else on your ending roster from last year and they will be your pick for the same round they were taken last year. If they were undfrafted they will be a 14th round pick. You also have the option of not taking a keeper at all.

Remember, I need everyone's keeper by next Monday.

Not until we find out that they had kidnapped and sexually assaulted the young girl that was in the car with them.

Then they both might go in the first round and second round.

Mary Jane possession doesn't even warrant a Free Agency visit to the Ebony Stud's Collection of Convicts.  ;D

Arrested for Mary Jane? I'll have to see if my aquatic engineering position is open. You'll need more than grass possession to be issued a Team Stud practice jersey. Now Blount did punch a guy out in college. That's the type of aggression needed to rack of Ws. He can get a camp invite. But just being a horticulturalist only means you've reached cheerleader status.

I look forward to the perfect year this season where I finish one spot better than last year while NWR finishes 8 spots worse.

I think a trophy named after me is a capital idea.

Remember the draft is this Sunday at 1:00 PM. If you cannot make it, Yahoo will draft a team for you based on their rankings. If you don't like some of their rankings you can go in before hand and make adjustments to those rankings.

Well, look who's leading the pack after five weeks.  I guess those old guys like Gore, Gates, Sproles, and Rivers must have found the fountain of youth!

Jack B. More, are you ready for your whipping! Not that it really matters since you're going to lose by at least 50 but you'll need to visit the waiver wire for a new starting RB. If you act fast, Peterson is available and I heard he comes with a switch!

Peyton Manning made me SO damn mad! Seven points, WTF??? To make it so bad, my opponent had RB CJ Anderson, so all of the points went to him instead of Manning. Regardless of Manning's rubbish fantasy points, I STILL had a chance to win the matchup, but out of three tight ends, I had to have Greg Olsen (25pts) on the bench, and I started Jason Witten (6 pts) and Coby Fleener (decent game with 13 pts). It was just a very crappy week, between the Jags game, and my fantasy team... I know that no one gives a damn, I just had to vent... :(

With two months until the start of the NFL season, it is time for everyone to begin assuming that they know more than everyone else when it comes to running a football team. I have reactivated our league and have sent invites out to everyone who played last year. If you didn't get your invite, let me know. If you do not plan on playing, please give me a heads up so I can work on finding a replacement. I would appreciate everyone getting signed up by the end of this month with keepers to follow. Right now the draft is set for September 7th at 4PM but we can change that dependent on preference/schedule.

Here is the 2015 draft order and keepers from last year. Remember the keeper value is only good for one year. After that, if you want to keep the same player, they are assigned the round value based on Yahoo average draft position.

Thanks. Surprisingly Steve wasn't the last one to sign up this year. If you look back through this thread, he was the usual culprit.

I want to lock in keepers by the end of next week. Also I picked Monday September 7th for the draft, which is Labor Day. Not sure how well this works for everyone, so if people want to suggest a different date/time, have at it and we can see what works best.

I have only had responses from 5 people, including myself. Either message me, post here, or on the league site. Here is the keeper list for 2015. For those who kept a player for an additional year, that player's value is determined by Yahoo's ADP. This value can change up to the weekend prior to the draft. I will post the final value of that player the Friday before the draft. At this point no one can make a change to their keeper. However you can between now and the day before the draft throw back your keeper and choose not to have one without penalty.

(http://i1177.photobucket.com/albums/x355/Lucasjj/2015%20MJ%20Keepers_2.jpg) (http://s1177.photobucket.com/user/Lucasjj/media/2015%20MJ%20Keepers_2.jpg.html)

Currently the draft is set for September 7th at 4PM. I have not heard from anyone about changing that so I assume we are good with that time. If you can't make the draft, Yahoo will auto-draft for you.

Grad school had me dragging my feet this summer on renewing the league. I finally have gotten around to it this morning. Everyone is automatically in from last year. If you don't want to play, let me know so I can find a replacement.

Currently the draft is set for Sept 8 at 7PM. If that date is bad let me know. I just picked it at random.

Keepers are due Friday September 2nd. The rules for keepers are below. You can see your roster from last year by going to the league page and changing the league year on the main page. You can also see draft results to see when a player was drafted. Below are the keeper rules in case you need a refresher.

Looking forward to the season but I'm still trying to get h my head around the keeper rules: If I keep my keeper from last year which you state would be based on this year's ADP how exactly is that different from picking a different keeper from last year's team? Wouldn't that player go by this year's ADP? And how are you getting the ADP info for the date you mentioned earlier?

I'd still like to keep Andrew Luck but I'm not sure what round he would be now and may want to look at other options. Thanks!

Nope.  You would forfeit whatever draft was used for that player last year.

Using my example:  I picked up Hurns last year with my 11th pick, so I won't have an 11th round pick this year.

His ADP (Average Draft Pick) is 9.1, so if he were my keeper from last year and I still wanted him, I would give up my 9th round pick.

The theory is that the bigger the spread, the better the value.  Since I'm only gaining 2 draft slots, it goes to show you how shitty my team really was last year.  ;D

I still need keepers from the following people: Riverside Mail, Jax-Jerseylicious, Cline, Steve and Danno. If you do not want to keep anyone please let me know that as well.

Jax-Jersey and Steve have confirmed that they are back this year. I haven't heard anything from Riverside Mail, Cline, or Danno. With the draft this Sunday I need confirmation by tomorrow that you are again playing. Otherwise I have to find someone to take over your team on Friday.

My keeper is Julio Jones.

I sent you a message. I am not sure you understand the keeper rules. The player kept is your draft pick for that round. If you keep Julio, he is your first round pick since he was drafted in the first round last year. In your case that would make him the first pick overall. You could just draft him there and keep any other player you would like.

Here is your roster from last year: https://football.fantasysports.yahoo.com/archive/nfl/2015/256912/rosters?date=2016-09-01&week=17&mid=8

And here are the draft results: https://football.fantasysports.yahoo.com/archive/nfl/2015/256912/draftresults?drafttab=team

You can search for players on that page that you had on your year end roster who weren't drafted by you.

Looking at your roster, Gurley, Floyd, and Tate would all have value as a keeper.

Below is the final keeper list. Cline and Danno are out and have been replaced by sanmarcomatt and JaxAvondale. I have finalized the teams, divisions, keepers, and draft order. At this point all that is left to do is draft and then watch NWR run his mouth while managing a failing team.

Failing Team?!?!?

You mean "Rebuilding".

I pretty much looked around the league last year and decided to take a year off, much like any FA that comes to Jacksonville.  You see the talent level around you and realize that anything close to resembling your best or even slightly better than average would be devastating to the fragile psychs of the others around, so you tone things down a bit.

I'm hoping the addition of some new blood might raise the competition level up a bit, but somehow I doubt it.

Are we sure that JaxAvondale realizes that this is a fantasy American football league and not some cheesy roto-futbol crap?

Will sanmarcomatt, regardless all of his wry financial musing, manage to keep his shit together when he realizes that he might end up with a player that has a 'questionable' background?

Has Rog finally ended the Ebony-muffin's reign of leading the league in criminality.  And let's be honest, how many of those felonies have turned to wins?  For a lover of all that is UM, you still haven't seemed to grasp that 'felon with actual talent' concept.

Hell, the only way any one ever stood a legitimate chance of winning was after Johnsonville left.   "But what about me...." Hush Massilon, the sun shines on a dog's ass every once and a while.  I should let you know that I think I've figured out a way to electronically spam the USPS with front door pickup requests for any address.  Get ready for a Looonnnngggg season.

Anyone here feel sorry for that Baltimore guy?  I sure as hell don't.  His 3rd place finish was such a fucking anomaly that it almost gave me hope that unicorns and fairies might exist.  Right alongside FSU taking the ACC again this year or even in the near future.

And Post St...  forever the bridesmaid.  The only thing that even keeps you relevant is that fact that you're the commissioner of the league.  And even though you're not as reviled as good ol' Rog you kind of remind me of him.  High school standout but was never really good enough to play the game outright.  So he finagled a way to put the entire league in a stranglehold.

When the bullied becomes the Bully....

Here's to another mediocre season.  Be prepared to kiss the ring in December!

Hmmmm....I guess my outlandish objections to domestic violence could "handcuff" me ( I am here all season) during the draft but I think I will be able to manage.
My worst draft nightmare is Josh Brown falling to me in round 14 and having to deal with a difficult moral dilemma. I may have to use up all of my clock on that one.....

Well, my friend you're gonna be in for a really long season if you're coming in with expectations of a punter lasting to round 14.

There's usually a solid of punters between rounds 7-11.

Consider this the only true advice I'll be giving this season.

WallStTraders hasn't had the opportunity to run into the buzzsaw that is my team yet.  2 more weeks if you're lucky.

I would need to sit out a week or two for most of you to catch my total points.

So keeper envy aside, just be glad you were in that powder-puff division for the season.

My first time missing the playoffs in a decade of fantasy football. Lost both of my starting RBs, including my keeper, in week one or two. Ended up going 6-1 down the stretch by riding the Ajayi (my new waiver wire keeper) train. Unfortunately, tufsu1's crappy team couldn't put the stem on the apple this week, causing Team Stud to go limp.

Quite the record you had against that powder-puff division. 1-3?

As for your total points, impressive but too bad it didn't mean more wins, Hillary. I expect you to fade like a cheap purple pant suit.

Defense wins championships and clearly many are intimidated going up against my juggernaut of a team as my points against illustrates.

What others call "luck", I attribute to my belichickian game planning.

I will attribute my playing down to the competition habit to my Clemson background.  They don't call it Clemsoning (http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=Clemsoning) for no reason.

And while defense may win championships is a common belief, it's a proven fact that whomever scores the most points wins.

Ball control is a must and you can take my word that I'm very good when handling balls.  ???  Wait...

I love this.

I too was beaten before the late game started last night, but the G-men kept Zeke out of the endzone and Dez actually put up a negative number.  (-.5 for those of you keeping score at home)

So I hope Belichick pulls out one of those old tapes he likes to watch from back in the Knute Rockne days and let's the Pats run the T formation to victory with nary a pass thrown Edleman's way.

Just consider it an early Christmas present that I decided to put on my Gene Smith hat this week and try to show everyone I'm the smartest guy in the room by swapping kickers this week.  Had I kept Sturgis (Gator) instead of Hopkins (herpes riddled deadbeat) it would have been a moot point.  Not luck, just arrogance on my part.  And it even occurred to me -- what am I doing putting a nole on my team -- and I still didn't change it.

No one to blame by myself.  Overcame injuries all year and rode my workhorse Le'von on a nice winning streak.  Thought I would do one game better than last year's runner up finish but it wasn't to be.

Let's hope for a stat correction to come in late tonight!

I will note that his Congrotastic team got by the venerable Jack B. More team last week by less than a point for two very frustrating reasons:

1. The Bucs couldn't get even one first down late against Dallas and Zeke Elliott got nearly 20 cheap yards just running out the clock
2.  Jack B. Moore's owner did too much thinking - and started Philip Rivers over Drew Brees.  Brees had back-to-back awful weeks, but outperformed Rivers by more than 20 points (41.36 vs. 20.24).  In fact, Jack B. Moore's bench outscored Congrotastics's bench 87 to 11.

Would have finished a lot higher if I hadn't lost all my RBs to injury the first half of the 1pm games in week 2. Took me a few weeks to recover but ended up going 6-1 down the stretch and had the same record as Congro when the season ended. All I needed was your lousy team to win in week 13 to move to the six spot and you blew it!

Howdy Folks! We have moved into the month of August and fantasy football is back on the mind. We will assemble for our 8th season to once again go through the motions of losing at fantasy football, or at least that is my experience. I have sent out invites to everyone who played last year. I used the default email address Yahoo provided. I assume it is whatever you used last year to sign up. If you didn't get your invite, send me a DM with an updated email address. If you are not coming back, let me know so I can work to find a replacement.

More of you need to be like TUFUS1. He signed up immediately. He has the kind of hustle the rest of you should aspire for.

I will look at the calendar and put out more detail on possible draft days/times and keeper deadlines.

One question on  the keeper, do you lose the round that you drafted the player last year or do you lose one round better?

If it's your first year keeping him, you lose the round he was drafted.

If it's the second year or more you're keeping him, you lose the round of his ADP for the current year.

Team Ebony Stud will solidify its position to have its way with the rest of you very soon.

In recent years, we've gotten away from selecting players who force their reckless abandon for everyday life into the violent game of football. With this in mind, our new president of football operations and now free man, Cecil "The Diesel" Collins, will help bring fear back to this league.

In addition, new coach Clubber Lang and coordinators, Bill Romanowski and Richie Incognito will be assisting in establishing proper gamesmanship on the field and culture in the Team Stud's locker room. With that said, Coach Lang has already issued his prediction for losers lining up against Team Stud on Sundays:

Other than that, have a good time in your race for second place.

Here is the draft order and last year's keeper list.

As NRW said, keeper value is based on where the player was drafted last year, by you or others. If the player was undrafted, they have a 14 round value. If they are being kept for a consecutive year, their value is determined by Yahoo ADP. You can see your year end roster by clicking the "year" drop down under the league name on the Yahoo page and changing it to 2016. You can also see last year's draft results that way. Keepers will need to be in several days before the draft. So we will know that deadline once a draft date is in place.

With that said, week one begins Thursday September 7th. The weekend prior to that is Labor day weekend, which may not work for people. That pushes us back to the 26th or 27th but that leaves a lot open in terms of possible injuries or position battles since games are still being played. Our drafts are typically quick (1 to 2 hours) so doing them on a weekday works. I am flexible, so if anyone has any preferred dates/times due to schedules, let me know.

We haven't gotten together in person in several years. I am down for meeting up somewhere with beer, food and WiFi and doing some drafting whether it is the weekend or weekday.

Lucas,

Are we drafting opposite order of last year's finish or is it random?

It is supposed to be the based on the playoff and consolation brackets. The playoff teams are seeded 7-12 based on where they finished with the champion picking 12th and moving down. The top 6 is based on the consolation bracket with the winner getting the first overall pick. This way people can't tank for the first pick. I screwed up when I looked at it and grabbed the final standings which isn't right. I have updated the previous post but here is the correct draft order.

Two things:

Lake - just to make sure we are on the same page, Ajayi was drafted last year in the 10th by NRW. So even though you picked him up off waivers, his 10th round value is tied to him for this year. It does go to show how terrible a decision NRW made, which is always good to admire.

NRW - you didn't have Johnson last year. I pulled a screen shot from your roster which is 100% legit and nothing can be stated otherwise. I assume you are confusing Johnson for Yeldon. To make things easy for you, I will just assign him as your round 1, 8th overall pick.

Everyone is now signed up, divisions are set, and the schedule is final.

Here is where we stand on keepers. All keepers will be due 2 days prior to the draft, what ever day that ends up being.

I haven't heard from anyone regarding the draft. At this point I am thinking the evening of Aug 31st to provide some entertainment during the last preseason games or Tuesday September 5th. I would also consider Saturday the 2nd at 8PM to give TUFSU something to do other than cry through the FSU game.

We have kept the same scoring settings for several years. I am throwing out some possible changes. Let me know if anyone has an issue with these changes

Remove -1 for missed PAT since those are not a given anymore

We have return yards turned on for offensive players. I propose removing this entirely, or turning it on for the DFS/SPT. Default for Yahoo is to not score return yards for either.

Defensive yards allowed is scoring 5 points when a defense holds a team to 0-99 yards. With the high power offenses today I think we should change this to 10 and do 5 points for 100-199 and 2 points for 200-299, 0 points for 300-399, -2 points for 400-499 and -5 for 500+

Totally cool with the proposed Missed PAT change and Defensive yardage. Splitting hairs, but I'd be cool with 3 for 200-299 as that's a feat in today's NFL

Personally, I'd turn Return yards on for all players. I think the defense should get additional credit if they have, say, an 80 yard interception return but don't get the touchdown. Even if they do get the TD, I think they should get more credit for a long return then say someone catching a Blake Bortles pick six where the DB just has to step in the end zone.

I am still missing keepers from a few people. Here is where we currently stand. I would like to get this wrapped up by this time next week (8/29).

Draft date is set for 8/31 at 7:30.

Made a few scoring changes:
- Miss PAT does not penalize any longer.

- Defensive yards allowed scoring 10 points when a defense holds a team to 0-99 yards, 5 points for 100-199, 2 points for 200-299, 0 points for 300-399, -2 points for 400-499 and -5 for 500+

- I turned off all return yards. Yahoo doesn't give points to defenses for return yards except for Kickoff and Punt returns. For instance it would only award 6 TD points to an 80 yard interception TD return. There is no way to award points to the return yards. And I feel adding return yards to Defenses changes the "position" since you are no longer making a defense selection choice on defense alone. I also turned it off for offensive players to maintain a players value at their position (RB/WR). However I left Return TD's on. So if you do have a position player who returns kicks and they score a TD you can be awarded for it. But I don't want to skew value through kickoff yardage which is easier to come by.

Let me know if anyone has an issue with any of this.

I personally prefer return yards on and missed PATs costing points because they make setting up a roster more strategic, based on game day conditions and matchups.  However, I'm not going to lose any sleep either way.

And with the return yards set at 25yds/pt, it's not a huge swing, but it does add some attractiveness to those WR4/5s that may not see the field much except for their special teams plays.  And that adds depth to the pool of players which I think is a good thing.

But like Lake, either way is fine as long as it's set pre-draft.

I put back on return yards at 1 point per 25 yards since most people responded to keeping those on. PAT misses has been upheld since majority of responses were for removing that. And no one complained about the defensive yards scoring.

Keeper value is based on where the player was drafted last year, by you or others.

Gronk

I will put Gronk as your keeper but just to be clear, you are keeping Gronk in the first round. Therefore he is your first round pick and you do not have a pick in the first round. You could actually keep Parker in the 10th and still draft Gronk in the first or second if you think he will still be there.

I will keep it as Gronk unless you tell me otherwise.

Yeah, you don't have to worry about me taking a TE in the first couple of rounds. I would snap up Parker before the 10th if he's available somewhere after the 5th or 6th round.

So are we having the draft at EverBank? There was some ad to host your draft on last night's game. Fantasy football at Everbank sounds much better than "real" football at Everbank. And I think the commissioner picks up the tab....

You show up at the stadium and wait for the rest of us to get there.

I did think that was interesting until I saw you had to make reservations and you get tickets to a future game, which made me realize that it would all be expensive.

I would like to officially change my keeper from Devonta Freeman to Drew Brees - I believe that would be giving up my 3rd round pick instead of my 1st round one

Title: Re: Fantasy football

All keepers are in. Only one person kept a keeper from last year (manasia - Tom Brady). His value is set from Yahoo's ADP which is 24.8 and makes him a 3rd round pick. All other players are set by their draft position last year. If something is incorrect, let me know.

Draft is scheduled for this Thursday at 7:30. Draft order is shown in the image above. Please note the few rule changes which took place for this year.

I am down for meeting up Thursday to do the draft and watch meaningless football. We just need a place with TV's, beer, food, and WiFi. I was thinking Mellow or Hoptinger for places in the core, but anywhere else with those features works for me. You can draft with pretty much any device now on Yahoo, so a phone or tablet will work if you don't have or want to bring a laptop.

You do not have to do anything. It will recognize that you are not there in the draft room and auto draft for you. If you want a little more control of the process you can add players to Preferred or Do Not Draft Lists. You can get there by mousing over "Draft" on the league site menu bar and selecting "Pre-Draft Rankings".

Its more of an accouterments to making meaningless football interesting on a Thursday night. I assume most of us are around the core, but I am willing to get out wherever. I figure Mellow would be a good spot.

I would think in the large are to the right of the bar there would be some plugs. I can get there around 6ish to confirm and to get several beers down before the draft. I figure that I haven't had any success in the league drafting sober but maybe my luck will change if I am half in the bag.

Only Lake and I seem to be sure things at this point. I don't Lake wants to have dinner with just me, so if we can't get more people on board, I assume everyone will just draft from home.

I don't think either of them have the pedigree for team Stud. If you are going with a Steeler, it has to be Roethlisburger or Martavis Bryant. Just pass on these two. Let those with a later pick, maybe say the third overall make that decision.
Title: Re: Fantasy football
Post by: thelakelander on August 31, 2017, 04:59:17 PM
Team Stud has standards and he doesn't value wasting high picks on QBs. Pencil in blackballed Kaep over the weird guy who hangs out in lady's restrooms at the bar.

To Bell's credit, he did get arrested for possession of marijuana, was suspended a few games for violating the league's substance abuse policy and has been holding out this preseason. So this guy is no Blake Bortles.

To Antonio Brown's credit, both his former trainer and personal chef claim he's an asshole. Evidently, he's the opposite of Chad Henne. Assholes and holdouts who believe they are more important individually than the team can both have a spot of Team Stud's roster.

Team Stud has identified its 1st round selection and made a decision on its draft strategy for tonight. No Mellow for me. I'll do my draft at home.
Title: Re: Fantasy football
Post by: thelakelander on September 01, 2017, 09:18:06 AM
Team Stud's plans didn't play off. With Ajayi already in the fold, the strategy was to end up with 3 MVP level players by taking a high end WR with the 1st pick and hoping Zeke Elliott's suspension would make him available by the 24th pick. West Ham blew that up, selecting Zeke with the 19th pick. Also figured I'd get DeVante Parker as a steal in the 6th. He's going to be Cutler's boy this year. Well, he got snapped up two spots before my selection. Overall, I'm not concerned. This team will win or lose the season with its RB and WR positions. Got some decent talent at both.  We'll just have to see how it plays out during the course of the season.

When Gekko and I first discussed the possibility of taking AR with the 16th pick we knew we had to keep it under wraps. We did hundreds of mock drafts....never once taking him so high. The disinformation campaign was relentless--in coffee shops, we mocked people who drafted QB so high.

The key was getting our #1 target at 9...when Mike Evans name was called, the cheers in the war room could be heard by the hookers on Phillips to the One Percenters on River Road.  With Melvin Gordon in the fold, Operation AR was now a go.

The effect on the draft was noticeable. Confusion.Awe. Suddenly, everyone was doubting everything they thought they knew about fantasy football. Doubt was creeping in.

Then Hunt falls to us at 40. Gekko and I did a high five. Our back field now looked like our brokerage accounts.

At this point, the draft room was stunned at what had been built with the 9th pick. They had said it couldn't be done.People had no idea what to do. Picks taking forever...time even being used up and default picks being made. We calmly scooped up the WR we had been targeting while indecision reigned around us.

I felt like W on Iraq: MISSION ACCOMPLISHED.

What could go wrong?

That Parker pick was a real let down for you. Imagine the receiving core you could have had pairing Parker with AB and Benjamin. Such a missed opportunity. You will be looking back at that all season thinking about the one that got away. And to make it worse Parker sits on my bench due to my abundance of riches. Once Luck and the Muscle Hampster returns, this team will run itself on a coin flip with all this talent.

I'm not in your league but have won mine 3 times. I believe it is how good you are at dealing with injuries and managing your team at the very end of the season which wins these leagues.  Inevitably some player will surface who is not considered legit at the start of the season (Dak Prescott for instance) and might be critical at the end of the year.  My $00.02

No updates to report from 2-0 Team Stud's locker room. The Ebony Stud is doing what was expected.

Well, it looks like the last undefeated team will fall this week. Team Stud took advantage of an injured Marcus Mariota, forcing Congrotastic to rely on Tyrod Taylor for inspiration. Combined with that and the fact that Tyrell Williams, Carlos Hyde, and Eddie Lacy all had uncharacteristically bad performances and it leads to a bad week in the locker room over at Congrotastic.

Dude, TERRIBLE Fantasy weekend. Got caught up and didn't even look at any lineup.

It hurt more in my money league. Left one guy in who was declared out early in the week, another on a bye, then lost by only 15.

From 0-5 to the title game.

In case you haven't seen the email already, welcome back to another year of fantasy football! Yahoo apparently has a mind of its own because this league is not set to auto-renew but for whatever reason, it auto-renewed last night. Due to that, everyone is automatically back. There is no need to claim your team. Therefore, please confirm by replying to this post, through the league page, or DM me that you are playing this year.

I set the draft for September 5th at 7PM. We can move that around if needed. I don't anticipate any setting or rule changes but if anyone has any suggestions, throw them out there.

As in the past, we are a keeper league. Keepers will be due by August 27th. Keeper value is based on where the player was drafted last year, by you or others. If the player was undrafted, they have a 14 round value. If they are being kept for a consecutive year, their value is determined by Yahoo ADP. You can see your year end roster by clicking the "year" drop down under the league name on the Yahoo page and changing it to 2017. You can also see last year's draft results that way.

Below is the draft order and prior year keepers.

That sounds good to me.

I still need several people to confirm they are back for this year.

Everyone is confirmed back and half the league has claimed their keepers. Below is where we stand. I would like to get keepers confirmed by the beginning of next week.

As for the draft, it seems like several people are interested in getting together. Do we want to try something for Labor day weekend or for a weeknight next week or the following? I don't want to pick a date which people cannot at least draft live online, which may make labor day weekend a no go.

I'll likely go with Miami's Drake or Josh Gordon in Cleveland. Both could be a big reward or huge bust but I have nothing to lose since neither was drafted last year.

Lake - Unless I missed it, I still need a keeper from you.

Everyone else, I have your keepers and will update once I hear from Lake.

The draft has 12 rounds with 14 picks a round for a total of 168 picks. With a minute and half for each pick the draft could go 4 hours. I don't think it actually will take even half of that time since some people will likely auto draft and not everyone will take the whole time. However social grounds might be iffy unless we back up the time a little bit to around 630.

It appears that in 2016 I pulled a Roger Goodell and made the unilateral change to base the draft order on the results of the playoffs. That goes for both the championship and consolation brackets. Picks 1-6 are based on the where the teams finish in the consolation bracket and picks 7-12 are reverse order of the championship bracket. This gives the incentives for teams not in the playoffs to play out the season.

I will admit that the original rules of the league did say that this wouldn't be the how the draft order would be decided and we would just use reverse order of standings. I think I started doing it this way because my other keeper league operates this way and I just assumed both did. Since we have been doing it this way the last couple years, and it does have the incentive for non-playoff teams to keep playing, I will proceed with this method.

I did in 2017 state the draft order process when I posted the draft order and no one had issues or at least noticed the change.

I think we do social grounds at 7. If they kick us out, we will have to just mooch their wifi outside to finish the draft. We will start at 7 exactly. So get there early enough to setup.

I will be there tomorrow evening.

The keeper deadline is just me trying to wrangle up cats. If I don't set some sort of deadline, Lake would probably not even sign up for the league let alone get me a keeper. Official deadline is a few hours before the draft since I have to set the keepers and the draft order on the Yahoo league page for the draft to start.

I actually was keeping McKinnon in another league that drafts tonight, so i drafted him in two other leagues to simplify my fantasy rooting interests for the season. Now in two of my leagues, that ship has already sunk.

I appreciate the efforts of some, but am disappointed in many others for their lack of effort to attend.

For all of you with complicated schedules, you need to block out some dates on the calendar now for next year's draft. It will be our 10th year and we have to make an effort to get together for that. Wall Street can front a big draft party at Cowford for us all. Looking back, about 60% of the league has been here for every year. Even the ones we don't even want to be back.

Next year if we have the draft on a weekend, that works better for me, during the week is going to be really challenging.

A wise person once told me that it was foolish to sit on a pair of valuable assets: See what you can get from one of them, try to put it to good use as leverage or an even greater return as an investment.

With that in mind, I'm officially announcing that this week I'm entertaining trade offers for one of my two QBs - Kurt Cousins or Patrick Mahomes.

Clock is ticking and Mahomes plays Thursday.

So, the regular season is almost over and shockingly, I have had a decent year despite the fact that I could have had a squirrel draft for me and had a better roster. I won't have Mr Mensa against the Colts but it looks like I can back into the playoffs if necessary.

On a more serious note, I have concerns about NRW. With his record, I would have expected some trash talking this year but it has been crickets. Perhaps looking at his Bortles night light and his Bortles feet pajamas just makes even fantasy football too painful to think about. I am not sure.

Thanks for not mentioning my Blake Bortles full-size body pillow.  That would have just been weird.

TBH, there's not much satisfaction from destroying you guys this year on my way to a 10-2 record and a practical lock for winning the Shiva.  I mean....  I'm happy I'm winning, but since the team was autodrafted, there's no true joy in it.  Losing to PostSt just makes it worse.

I wonder if this is how Gruden felt winning SB37 with the team that Dungy built?  I'll guess I'll have a better idea in a few more weeks.

Then you insult us by giving us opponent weak like Ukraine. These "Playmakers"....don't you need to make plays to be called "Playmakers"? Hah....I make joke.

Now you make joke by giving us the "Best in the West". This is your best? Too lazy to draft his own team. Lets machine do work. Typical American. Lazy in Russia? Die slow, painful death. Lazy in America? Get job working for government...live off fat pension.

The transcript for the half-time concession as Best in the West withdrew from the playoffs:

Solid job through the regular season guys, that was an otherworldly performance.

I'd really like to commend each and every one of you for the way you laid down for the playoffs.  Superb job of of just barely showing up, is Odell even back from his bye week cruise?  and shitting the bed all over yourselves.

Dak, that was the average, subpar performance that has kept you off of a roster for the majority of the season.  Really glad you reverted back to you normal self when the season was on the line.  Bravo.

Those of you on the Green Bay roster not named Devonte - Fucking Outstanding!  I really can't add anything to your performance, the numbers speak for themselves.

The rest of you who contributed to the epic failure don't really need any recognition.  You're all second hand players on your current team, and I really don't want to expend the word count trying to explain who you even are.

On to next year.

We'd like to congratulate The Tradery on securing a second round bye in the playoffs and wish them well next week.

If there's any solace I can take from this season, it is this:  Post Street was a worse abomination that my team this year, so I can always hang my hat on being better than them.

Peace FKAMJ.  The Jaxson Cup will be mine next year.

There are many important anniversaries in football this year. The NFL turns 100. The Jaguars enter season 25, but there is only one anniversary that matters. The Fantasy Football league Formerly Known as Metrojacksonville Junkies has made it to year 10. It is hard to believe that when I took on this roll of commissioner 10 years ago that this league would still be going today. Now as we all can agree, my efforts to run this league have distracted me from winning my rightful championship, but I accept that sacrifice to have my name ascend among the great commissioners: Rozelle, Tagliabue, Goodell... So much of this leagues success can be and should be attributed to my greatness.

I have renewed the league and will be sending invites to previous year players. I will give everyone a week or so to claim their team before I start harassing them (Read Lake). If anyone bails out I will find replacements. Any suggestions for rule changes need to be made now. If anyone has draft date suggestions throw them out there. I think we should try to get together to draft for our 10th year. Maybe at the new sports bar/brewery Strings.

Draft Order is as follows.

Just to reiterate draft order is based on final year finishing. Top 6 picks are decided by the finish in the consolation bracket. Bottom 6 picks is the reverse order of championship bracket.

Keeper rules are the same. You get one keeper at the round they were drafted the previous year, by you or someone else. Undrafted players who you picked up are assigned a round 14 value. If a player is kept for a second year, their round value is determined by Yahoo ADP closer to the draft.

If you know you are not coming back this year please let me know.

Team Ebony Stud really sucked last year. With one exception, all players reported to 1 Stud Central headquarters to find their belongings in a pile on fire outside the premises and their access privilege permanently revoked. That one guy who was allowed to remain carries the me first attitude that head coach Cecil the Diesel Collins demands. Thus, Zeke Elliott has been selected as our keeper and team leader. For more information, contact our public relations specialist Mercury Morris.

Do to the hurricane I don't think anyone will be meeting for the draft. I plan to keep it scheduled for Tuesday evening. Obviously if you don't have internet and or power drafting may be difficult or you just may have more important things than fantasy football to deal with. Either way, auto drafting may be popular this year. It may be wise to go in and adjust your que if you want to safeguard how the auto-draft would go.

I will update keepers and draft position tomorrow. If you don't have a keeper into me before mid-day tomorrow, I am not guaranteeing you will get one.

Be safe everyone.

No man, keep Guice.  If you had grabbed after 11... then I'd consider it, but I'm not taking a guy you picked up 4 rounds earlier.

Put Guice back on your roster and fill my spot with Marquise Lee.  I'll deal with RB depth in trade for FA.
Title: Re: Fantasy football
Post by: Lucasjj on September 03, 2019, 09:11:46 PM
I get what you are saying but Guice is a fair deal at that point. If Chubb wasn't on your roster as a keeper the system would have drafted you another RB before going after bench players. So you would have grabbed an RB in that range.

If you want to drop him for Lee have at it, but with my unilateral power as commissioner I say the placement of Guice stands.

Let's go JuJu!

The "Best in the West" shouldn't have to pin their hopes and slim chances of a major day on Mason Rudolph's arm!

The classic Wtf Fantasy week. I have 155 points but need an unlikely monster game from my flex Position to win. I was following some games yesterday and kept saying to wife, I hope my opponent doesn't have so and so. Turns out he had them all!

You're welcome.

173 and lose!? I must have  set a league record so at least I have that going for me.

That seriously may be the best fantasy performance I've ever seen from a losing team. I feel for you; literally no weak spots in the entire lineup.

Lol what a horrible week. I'm actually surprised I lost by less than a point. Here's to hoping for a stat correction by November 14th!

I would suggest scoring more than 88.88 this week....

And 116 won't be nearly enough either.

I'll be ready for the playoffs! A market correction is coming.

yeah stupid Jack B. More decided to start Matt Ryan over Jameis Winston - otherwise, Ebony Stud would have been sweating it out for a playoff spot this week

Lol sounds like a personal problem. Enjoy being eliminated by a team who's top pick went completely off the rails right at the start of the season.

Another win for me! Playoff bound for the 2nd time in 3 seasons with one title under my belt. I have been bulldozing through this league with little to no resistance. Feeling like Lenny out here!

Why does this remind me of your older takes about how brilliant the Jaguars front office has been?

Considering I have crushed you twice this year( bulldozer lose a tread?), I am personally rooting for you as facing you in the final would be like having a bye.

As the first defending champ to even make the playoffs in years, it looks like my toughest match up will be the first round. As long as I win this week, looks like a cakewalk to a repeat.

I don't recall a recent Jags Front Office take but I had a heavy bye week the last time we matched up. Market correction is coming!

Huh. I had no idea 'Massillon' meant 'paper' until yesterday.

+1

Looks like my team is the Dallas Cowboys of fantasy football.

First Wilson comes up small and now Jeffrey carted off. Bulldozer is in a ditch.
Well damn, I certainly didn't expect this!

This has been a great fantasy football season this year and kudos to all competitors, but let's be honest - This is the match-up we've been all wanting to see all year. Fitting that it all comes down to this.

So my team is a little banged up, but watch your neck-o Gordon Gecko! I'm making my adjustments and pulling all the stops for my first Metro Jacksonville FF crown.

He's not on my team but you gotta tip your hat to TBB QB Jameis Winston: fist QB in NFL History with back to back 450 yd passing games.

Ah, the holidays! That special time of the year gathering with seldom-seen loved ones, and after another frustrating round of conversations ending in "Don't you dare roll your eyes and finger air quote liberal media bias to my face again!" dreaming of the day you can go back and put One America News Network back on the big screen without getting quizzical stares from family members, you go back to the safety of your bedroom pull out the laptop and promptly hijack the discussion board of The Jaxson - much like what fantasy football does this time of year. So kudos to all competitors in the MetroJax league for another year of a much needed competitive entertaining diversion.

And of course congratulations to San Marco Matt on his well earned championship. Truly an honor going head to head against you. To continue my post-Festivus grievances I was in the finals or semi-finals of 3 FF leagues this year for some serious money/bragging rights and lost them all. I'm just grateful I was able to put up enough of a fight so that SMM wasn't able to go full S&M&M on me.

Peace!  8)

Will there be an complete NFL season? Will there be Fantasy Football? Does anyone care at this point?

Damn Covid...I can live with the deaths, unemployment, and small business destruction. But, it has tragically put a damper on my likely 3 titles in a Row. Now that really sucks!

#threepeatsmatter

Funny the things we forget about during all of this. Even though this league is strictly for fun, I wouldn't mind if the league was shelved for the year. Having no pre-season, limited training camps, some teams without any home crowd advantages the entire year, and the likely scenario of games suddenly postponed and possibly cancelled, affecting things my main concern is I have not seen any clear contingencies on how to go forward if there were to be serious game disruptions. I don't mind the NFL went full steam ahead with their regular season but there are just too many unknown variables that would make this year a very uneven playing field.

And don't worry about your streak, Matt. I'm sure we'll keep it warm for you for next season, but if you insist on a league this year allow me to present you in advance your 3-pete crown ;D:

Anyone in contact with our fearless commissioner?

I would actually vote on the league skipping the year as I have zero interest in football.

I would second that.

I just mailed it in on 2 drafts in my annual money leagues.  I didn't even realize one was drafting until I got a text about half way through and the other I just let Yahoo pick for me.

It doesn't feel like football season this year.

Since we're all die-hard football followers this year, lets go all out and have a full auction dynasty draft featuring a full slate of individual defensive players! And lets have it tomorrow night! It will be confusing, it will infuriate, it will make you cry, and it will go on all night but we'll find out who the real lovers of the game are!  ;D
