I have looked all over the internet and even at COJ website to see any information of what are the minimum requirements to run for the Mayor of Jacksonville.

Like age, party, etc? Does anyone have pointers on this?

Huge thanks,

You have to be a registered voter living in Duval County.

That's about it.

There are some things that you have to do in order to become "qualified" for the ballot.  But they come after meeting those two minimal requirements above.

From the Charter:
QuoteSection 6.01. - Qualifications and term of office.*

The mayor shall be a qualified elector of Duval County and a resident of Duval County, and shall have resided in and been a qualified elector of Duval County for at least 365 consecutive days immediately before the date on which he or she qualifies to run for the office of mayor. If he or she shall cease to possess any such qualifications during his or her term of office, he or she shall forthwith forfeit the office, and the council shall remove him or her therefrom. He or she shall be elected for a period of 4 years and shall assume office on the first day of July following his or her election and serve until his or her successor is elected and qualified. No mayor elected and qualified for two consecutive terms shall be eligible for election as mayor in the next succeeding term. The mayor shall devote his or her entire time to the performance of the duties of his or her office and shall hold no other public office or public employment.

Oh, and promise to run the city like a business!  (Just don't tell anyone that business is Enron until after you're elected!!) ;)

I would not be surprised if Johnny did work for them...............I know he worked for Gate! Maybe thats why Herb let him go become Mayor.............Herb was running out of money after Johnnys tenure there? ::)

The Mayor's election has been a boon for Gate.  I'd say Herb made the right investment there.

Jimmy...........looking at the Courthouse boondoggle and the road and concrete work going in all over......yea Herb got his monies worth!

Hopefully our next mayor will not just barely qualify, but exceed well beyond all expectations. After all, Jacksonville is long overdue for a revival, many other cities are experiencing one as we speak. C'mon Jacksonville, let's put our minds together and get it right this time, we deserve it after all.

With that in mind, take a close look at those who are running....most are of the same mold and have been deeply embedded in the current (and previous) administration, and IMO, we don't need more of the same. Others are deeply embedded in FBC and IMO the city already has enough of their influence. There's some who are trying to run a grassroots campaign and have proven themselves to be for the people...and others, well, they have money, but no substance.
