QuoteMarco Rubio sides with Corrine Brown on redistricting

Submitted by Abel Harding on September 23, 2010 - 1:25pm

Marco Rubio, the conservative Republican running for Florida's open U.S. Senate seat, sided with U.S. Rep. Corrine Brown, D-Jacksonville, on the state's redistricting amendments.

"I don't believe there needs to be a change in it," Rubio said when asked about Amendments 5 and 6.

Backers of the two amendments say they would prevent gerrymandered districts, such as the one occupied by Brown, from being drawn.

An honest question:

Don't redrawn districts help ensure our representatives are more likely to be a sampling of the populace demographically speaking?
