Best Chicken Fingers in Jax

So this isn't exactly a fine dining request, but I seriously love some chicken fingers.  I went to undergrad in Greenville SC and there were some places that hand batters actual strips of chicken breast and friend them when you ordered.  They were so good!  Any places in Jax do this?  It seems that most places buy the exact same frozen chicken because they all look identical.

It's a chain, and yeah, it's national to the best of my knowledge, but dammit, Zaxby's is friggin AWESOME.

Just sayin.

Hey, konstantconsumer - this does nothing to answer your question, but FU or BJU? I'm Furman '94.

You mean fried chicken fingers are FOOD?

Chickens do not have fingers... but...

In a boat at sea one of the men began to bore a hole in the bottom of the boat. On being remonstrating with, he answered, "I am only boring under my own seat." "Yes," said his companions, "but when the sea rushes in we shall all be drowned with you."

That is the famous SYSCO chicken finger. A popular menu item in Jacksonville. I think they sit on the freezer shelf in many Jacksonville restaurants next to the SYSCO jalapeno popper and the SYSCO cheese sticks.

Yeah, it was nice to have someone local to mock. Making fun of the Citadel Bellhops a couple of times a year wasn't quite enough. ;-)

Not wholly off topic, but Lee's Dragon at Baymeadows and Old Kings (in the winn dixie shopping plaza) has the best darn sweet and sour chicken in the city as far as chinese places go. They still use whole tenders for theirs instead of chopped up bits of chicken with too much breading. Oh man, now I have to go by on the way home.

Great tip! Used to order from them often when I worked nights in Baymeadows. Must try them again next time I'm in the vicinity. Hard to find tasty sweet and sour that isn't mostly dark meat. Tenders should be white meat in my book!

Does anyone know the status of the Chicken Koop establishments? I've been told the Beach Blvd location has been shuttered.

More accurately, it's one of the many options of Tyson chicken fingers.  Sysco is a distributor, and while they put their own label on a lot of products, they don't make any of them.  I can check with my rep, but I'll bet Sysco offers well over 100 products within the "chicken finger" category.

The state of the food production system in the United States is downright scary, but my gut feeling is that a distributor like Sysco is less culpable than producers like Tyson and Smithfield, or a chemical giant like Monsanto.

Yeah, I just watched Food Inc again the other night.  Blows my mind every time...

Guthrie's on Main was pretty good; Too bad it's gone now. The one in G-ville has closed too.

There is a TV commercial out now by probably TYSON. the kids describe how icky other "Adult" food is like...YEP...Get those kids to eat regurgitated breaded chicken parts.          ..what happens when they turn 17?

But hey, I wish someone would serve some real breast tenders with tempura batter...In the 5 points area? hint....

The best chicken fingers around Jax are from Publix. Hardee's has a commercial out that advertises real chicken fingers, but I haven't put it to the test.

I'd say if you're looking for the real thing, you've got to do it yourself.  My grandma makes the best chicken tenders i've ever had.

Ugh, I tried them, the chicken fingers at hardees are abysmal.
