As I recall, and it's been awhile...back in the day you avoided the downwind side of the fountain when the center jet went up so you wouldn't get wet.  How hard is that?

These pictures are great, but I don't think that's as high as the center used to go.  I could be wrong.

This looks good. Are they going to retain the Kings Road/Cowford Historical marker?

Yep it is there untouched in it's original location...

Ok starting to see some of the landscaping being put into place.

I am not sure what these are called but they have been planted around the Palm trees and in two very prominent spaces...

Trees have been planted along the Terraced west side of the park...

Holly Trees have been planted around the Pump house.

Upcoming next week, additional palm trees are being planted and then the expectation is sod will start being laid late in the week...

Also if you view the all the pictures I took today you will see the new lamp posts being placed along the Riverwalk, as well as light stands around the planted areas and walkways...

Starting to take shape :)

I believe it is cord grass. Native to NE Florida. Very heat, cold and drought tolerant. Low maintenance.

Awesome photos.  Was that last one taken with a fish eye lens?

Bob,

I have a question. Once everything is complete, who will be responsiable for the up keep of the landscaping?

The panoramic picture was taken with a standard lens.  The last two - three weeks pictures were taken with my new Fujifilm Finepix S2950 which has a panoramic setting and you can take two or three pictures and the camera software stiches them together.

My Dell Streak 5 can take 360 degree panoramic images using a App called Photaf but in bright sunlight it is difficult to use and I didn't try to use it the last two weeks...

Good question as at one time the Fountain and Park was handled completely by the Parks Department however that department no longer exists and I would assume Overall responsibility would fall to Recreation and Community Services but maintaining may be under Public Works?

Cliffs_Daughter

Bob, I think you are correct - it would be Public Works.
