The Problem with Rolling Fines.

So let's hope, that if indeed they were doing what they were asked to do by the "neighborhood," that they also listen now and do what the REAL neighborhood wants: to preserve properly our historic structures.

I say it again.  My house on Ionia sat for at least 10 years in abandoned blight. I'm glad I had an opportunity to save her.  Had it been demolished like it was supposed to back in 2007. . . . .

The work cut out for us will be to voice what the neighborhood wants (ie. to protect its historic fabric) and to encourage the city to develop a better policy which balances the need for historic preservation with protecting public safety (one which does not involve eliminating the houses altogether.) 

Surely, there must be room for a "Plan B."
