Best Way to Showcase Jacksonville?

Many of us are probably familiar with other forums where people show off their cities and discuss buildings, or the many photosharing sites out there where people amass tons of photos for all to see online.

I currently have a ton of pictures of Jacksonville neighborhoods, and I have many of them on Photobucket (necessary to post them).  So here are the questions:

1) Is there a better photosharing site?  I have had no problems with Photobucket thus far, but is there one that I should also use or completely switch to?

2) I have posted photothreads so far of Ortega, Avondale, Riverside, and Springfield, with some skyline shots mixed in.  I have noticed that the people on the boards that I post to seem to like "grit" pictures, people pictures (that's too difficult to capture in Jacksonville, LOL), and mansion pictures.  They seem to often prefer these types of pictures over downtown skyline shots.  Well, the first 3 threads I posted detailed wealthy Ortega, wealthy/historic Avondale and Riverside, and gritty/urban Springfield, but I have had little response.  I know I am no artist with photography and my camera is horrible, but I was expecting short posts to say something like: Wow, Springfield is awesome, I didn't know FL/Jax had neighborhoods like that!  or Wow, Jax has more wealth than I thought.  (Not that the latter matters, but people really think of Jax as a poor hick town and without any history or urban neighborhoods).  Instead, Rigawi, Rwanda is getting 30x more attention than beautiful Jacksonville, and it's not my personal pride that's shattered, it's my hometown pride.  We all know how underrepresented Jacksonville is in the national arena, so how do we break that trend?

Are you guys feeling me?  I want to post more photos of San Marco, San Jose, the Southside, AB, NB, JB, PVB, St. Augustine, and of course downtown, but it takes so much effort and I am worried nobody will take a look or leave a little shout out at least on the areas detailed, and all that work will be down the drain...

I am looking at one of these forums and there is a 4 page thread devoted to pictures of Vancouver Pride 2010.  Vancouver has a new photo thread on the site just about every week, so it's not like nobody knows what the city looks like overall, but a 4 page thread devoted to this year's Pride?  Come on!!  Jacksonville has literally never had a photo thread on this site (maybe once a year), so I would have thought people would be inclined to look at a place that they probably haven't seen (and no offense to Rigali, Rwanda, which people also haven't seen until now, but Jacksonville is way more photogenic than Rigali), but I think people literally DON'T want to see Jacksonville.  It's weird, imho, and frustrating.

I am not trying to reach "the masses" on these forums.  I can't stand most of the people just based on their posts, but I am just trying to reach a few who are truly professional photographers either full or part time to come to Jacksonville and I am trying to reach people with money or influence to think twice about the city as a place with lots of beauty and potential and cool neighborhoods abutting a river.
