I have spent a few days now in the Jacksonville area and I am looking at more things to capture and add to my gallery. If you can toss me some info on where I need to shoot next please post it here!!

Here is what I have done so far. You can click the photos below to get up close and personal with them!

I always wondered how clouds were made!

The river at night with the bridge lights on -- fantastic photo op.

Trout River marinas are salty and authentic -- old time jacksonville

The old cemetery on Main Street, creepy and cool.

Clara White Mission is a great old building, both inside and out.

St. John's Cathedral is gorgeous with an original Tiffany stained glass window and gargoyles. Downtown.  Immaculate Conception is beautiful too.

Thanks now if I can find all of this I'll be good! If anyone wants to be a tour guide I'll make sure dinner is on me  :o

Looks like you spent a good bit of time in San Marco.  Try Avondale or Ortega for old trees and big homes.  Stinson park at the mouth of the Ortega River is one of my favorite spots.  Great views of the skyline to the east and wonderful sailboats moored all throughout the river to the west.  Great for sunsets.  Mandarin also has some great trees and old FL landscapes.

Thanks. I spent about 3hrs in San Marco and enjoyed my time there. I'm definately wanting to see what else is there to do. Thanks to the bartender at Square One for giving me the info about San Marco which led to the shots you see from there.

Head over to 3 Layers in Springfield.  (6th & Walnut)

BudgetMediaPro

Sheclown, what is the best time to hit 3 Layers... I've got it on my "to do list".

Definitely hit Riverside and Avondale: Five Points shopping district at Park and Post, Memorial Park on Riverside Ave., the duck pond at Riverside Park (Park and Post), Richmond Street (Avondale), River Blvd. (Riverside), Riverside Baptist Church (Park and King), the blend of gritty and emerging upscale at King and Post. Also, if you're here through Saturday, hit the Riverside Arts Market (and even when empty, this site under the Fuller Warren Bridge on Riverside Ave. soars).

Great stuff you've got there!

Oh, and don't miss Atlantic Beach.  Great classic beach strip set among some pretty gorgeous century-old beachfront homes.

Thanks everyone. I am going to head out to Riverside this evening to scout it out. I appreciate the advice, and praises for my work.

Great shots in the parks.  You can't go wrong with those.

A few more suggestions:  Sunsets over the river, downtown, and the bridges. Jax Beach pier.  Don't forget the shorelines of the intercoastal. Great oaks can be found anywhere just about in Jax.  See the Blue Angels when they come.  For lots of color and character, try taking shots of the action in front of the arrayed produce at the Jacksonville Farmers Market on Beaver Street.  Take creative shots of our remaining historic buildings before they all disappear!  :(  Of course, there is always St. Augustine and Fernandina.
Hey!  Whatever happened to just plain ol' COMMON SENSE!!

Thanks to the information provided I was able to snag a few outstanding shots.

I'll be enterting this one into a "patriotic" contest for this month.
