But I have found that there is more than sufficient evidence to show that he is leagues above the kind of spiteful and small minded people who smear and demean him.

How many times have you been elected Senator, Vice President or nominee of a major party to be President of the United States, Auggie?  Perhaps you are just angry that when the Nobel Committee was reviewing your accomplishments, they somehow  skipped you over in favor of Al Gore.  

Been nominated for an Academy Award lately?  What about a Grammy?

Did you graduate from Harvard cum laude? Or get accepted to the Vanderbilt College of Law?

Have you started an international media company like Current TV?  Do you serve on the Boards of Apple or Google?

Were you Time's Man of the Year?

Or do you just spend your time posting political campaign lies about people that you dont really know that much about?

I like to eat Apples, does that count?  Even though Al Gore is making money off the whole Global Warming thing, I still think he is bringing attention to something that definitely needs more R&D.  Why can't the things go hand in hand?  Why do people think just because someone gets paid for something that they have less than honest intentions?  I'm with you Stephen, there has to be something to the guy if he has that kind of credentials.

Stephen, you are correct.  I have not won nearly the media awards that Mr. Gore has.  I did not choose a life of politics, but rather medicine.  I will not begin to bore you with my education or the meaningless awards that I have obtained, or that I have served on Doctors without Borders, for I am sure that means nothing to you.  They will merely sound like lies to someone responding to an internet post.  I will say that I have actually met Mr. Gore, again something I am sure you will not believe, and I do not care what awards he has been given by the media or the fact that he was raised in a political family, he panders to the media.  What you see is an act, true of almost all people in the spotlight.  I do however, have a picture of me on a Time magazine cover that says I am man of the year that I got at Universal Studios.  Does that count for anything?

so nice that you know what is in al gore's heart, st. auggie.  yes, he's made a lot of money but he has also given a great deal away.  additionally, he has spent a lot of money making his homes as green as possible, buys green power at a greater cost than off of the normal power grid, and gives a lot of money to non-profits.  i have no problem with him making a good income off of a valuable and important service to society.
