I agree wholeheartedly with both of what you said; however, if they are just going to let them sit, FOR DECADES until they crumble to the ground, then tear them down and wait, yes, after we are popping up daisies. Don't mean to sound cynical or pompous, but just the way I feel. They really need to stop fingering themselves and do something, yes, Jax-wise, with all of these properties whether empty or just sitting and rotting away.

These buildings are nowhere near crumbling to the ground, however, the longer the interiors are exposed to the elements with the open windows, the more damage there will be on the inside like mold, wood rot, etc and the more expensive the repairs will be.  That is why I was questioning why it was never properly sealed.  It is the most important city block in Jacksonville since it is the epicenter of DT and is critical to the city's vision of Laura Street from Hemming Park to the Landing.  The city needs to contribute and help out the developer to get it done.  So far they have been unwilling to fork over the 8 million or whatever the developer is asking from what I understand.  Not a bad deal for the city on a 50 million dollar project that is crucial for the city of Jax if you ask me.  I would really love to know what the city's plan is with the Trio if anyone knows, all I've heard is people saying how important it is to save it but haven't heard all the details of why they are not working with the developer.  If it is part of some masterplan with the Landing redesign or what, anyone know?
