Suwannee Sound Syndicate at the Riverside Arts Market

Randy "Big Cosmo" Judy has an authoritatively soulful voice for songs that remind you that  Johnny Cash, Willie Dixon, and Merle Travis all rocked. Yesterday at the Riverside Arts Market, the Big C surrounded himself with top-notch musicians who could likewise throw down, stretch out, and satisfy. It was a fun, great-sounding 45 minute show by the Suwannee Sound Syndicate. Randy was joined onstage by Andy King on percussion, Claude Bassingwaithe on upright bass, David Roberts and Michael Pearson taking turns on acoustic guitar, and Arvid Smith on slide guitar. Kudos as well to sound man Roy Peak.
