Alright Fidelity.  Now is your chance to do something great for the city of Jax.

Zero chance of the building surviving.  Fidelity has already done a lot for the city, and I bet they don't think they need to do us yet another favor by saving this building.  The absolute best case scenario/miracle would be if they partnered with Firehouse Subs to make it a new location.

Has anyone approached either Firehouse or Fidelity to raise the idea?
The tourist would realize at once that he had struck the Land of Flowers - the City Beautiful!

It was my first thought when I read the thread so I assume so. But who knows? Would it be a good location?

Best idea yet! I could see Firehouse Subs, a Jacksonville based company with franchising dreams through out the country making this a flagship store. Maybe start a trend of picking up available firehouses in each market. I like the idea of leaving the strip mall for a stand alone building maybe adding local firehouse memorabilia and a kids playground complete with fireman poll into a ball pit.

Do it Capt. Sorenson!
And though I long to embrace, I will not replace my priorities: humour, opinion, a sense of compassion, creativity and a distaste for fashion.

The space is large and potentially cost prohibitive for just a firehouse to occupy the building, but if it was their HQ, or housed another tenant with a non-competing use, that could be a win win win.  The building should be saved, it will give publicity and goodwill to whoever saves it, and it would be a great brand opportunity for Firehouse.

I hope old Captain Sorenson is having a good year and can swing this.
