This Saturday, 3/20/2010, St. John's Cathedral will be hosting a community Art Auction and Music Soiree that will benefit the Cathedral Choir. The Cathedral Choir was invited by the Ely Cathedral in Cambridge shire, England to fill in for their Choir in July. This is a unprecedented offereing to have an American Cathedral perform this function and as such this fundrasiing event will be to assist the 40 Member Choir on their resideny pilgrimage to England costing over $90,00 in travel and lodging. This is an honor for the St Johns Cathedral and a milestone for the local diocese and City of Jacksonville.

The event will present nearly 160 fine works donated since January 1st by many of your local, well known talented Artists such as Jim Draper, Steve Williams, Yvonne Lozano, Mary Atwood, Keith Doles, Mactrucque, Kim Barry, Joey Tate and the list goes on an on. We also have some incredible international artists such as Worley Faver (Pottery), Richard Riverin and several others. These artists have kindly donated their works and sometimes their time to make this a special event and many will be in attendance.  We also have Galleries R.Roberts Gallery, Avondale Artworks, Muse and Corse Gallery, and Stellars that have offered either paintings or services for this event.

The Food is being catered by State Attorney Angela Corey and her sisters and friends and TEAM BLACK, a local volunteer organization will be serviing up refreshments in the courtyard of the Cathedral. The Cathedral Choir will be represented and offereing their services as well as we have a special treat of music that will be performed during the evening ranging from Jazz to classical and other forms.
