$9 million for this??!!!  For a 6 foot rise over what may be a hundred feet or so?  Nothing about it being necessary over what is currently there to meet unmet handicapped requirements.  They simply had money left over burning a hole in their pocket and decided to blow it on this questionable "improvement".  As I suspected.

Technically, the article said that there was $9 million LEFT remaining from that budget, not that this particular project is going to cost $9 million to do...  Besides, isn't it good that a major project came in under budget?  Isn't this what most would do with extra remaining funds...improve and/or update other areas?  If nothing was being done to upgrade the airport, would we then be arguing what they're doing with facility charges that travellers have to pay?

Looks good to me.  A needed update IMHO.

I like my own personal airport just the way it is.

Maybe they could leave it and give me the 9 million.

Well, they could reduce those facility charges we travelers pay giving us lower airline ticket prices.  Maybe, they could put it toward facilities at Cecil they control that might generate some new jobs.  Or, put it toward the construction of Terminal B.  Or, here is a novel idea, save it for a rainy day instead of raising traveler's facility fees again or borrowing money.

I have no problem modernizing the airport but not all "modernizations" are created equal.  This one seems like money looking for a project, not a project looking for money.
Hey!  Whatever happened to just plain ol' COMMON SENSE!!

passenger facility fees are set by the Federal government...and I believe they've been $3 since they were instituted.
