Monty's in trouble

I went to Monty's last night and found that they'd stopped serving food indefinitely. The kitchen and wait staff were all laid off. Talking to the manager, it sounded like they were close to going under. I sure hope that doesn't happen. It's not perfect, but its a fixture.

OK, I'll bite... what's Monty's?

I've never been, but their reviews online sure aren't going to help. :o

And another one bites the dust!  Latitudes in 5 Points has closed as well.  Not surprising.

Deco Bistro in 5 Points looks like it will be opening soon.

The place has never been that good we all love it. First place I ever performed in a band.

West In Cantina.

The article said that the road had been closed for a long time. Wouldn't that be St. John's Ave?

I don't recall it ever being closed......

David

^ It was under construction for a relatively short period, at least by Jacksonville road construction standards.

Monty's did have a pretty good bbq burger, but when you look at the other type of options in the area, it's not enough to make it stand out.

While just up the street the Casbah remains, interesting.

Deco Bistro has been planning to open for a while, if they miss the holidays, are they really planning for the mad rush of January?
And, that $115 will save Jacksonville from financial ruin. - Mayor John Peyton

"This is a game-changer. This is what I mean when I say taking Jacksonville to the next level."

Oh Monty's, where old alcoholics go to die.  :-*

From what I understand, "west inn" will be closing, no more food, but "Montys" will remain, the bar and package store, but no food.
Hopefully that is correct, but Im only going on hear say.
