-December 5th,The First Saturday of December from 6-9pm

-Saint Johns Avenue From Talbot to Van Wert closes at 5pm for setup.

-Special Events include horse drawn sleigh rides, pictures with Santa & Mrs. Claus, local church and organization musical, and dance performances, strolling carolers, lighting of the Avondale Christmas tree, Santa’s Avondale elves with stories, fun and treats for the young & old, and the usual festival fan fare attendees have come to expect over the 30 plus years of the event.

-This year our event is in partnership and to benefit the Sulzbacher Center of Jacksonville.

-During the months of November & December the Avondale Merchants Association members are selling Holiday greeting cards with 100% of the proceeds supporting the Sulzbacher Center programs.

-In addition the Merchants Association members will accept donations on behalf of the Sulzbacher Center .

-Select stores will also sell, mugs and cards featuring artwork from the Sulzbacher Center ’s children  with 100% of the proceeds supporting the center.



Holiday Card Proceeds & Sulzbacher Center

The proceeds from the holiday cards and mugs will directly support the programs at the Sulzbacher Center . The Sulzbacher Center provides the opportunity for homeless men, women and children to achieve a better life. The center's comprehensive services include street outreach, daily meals, safe shelter, case management support, job placement assistance, medical, dental, and mental health care as well as scattered-site housing. Every day, the Sulzbacher Center is home to more than three hundred homeless members of our communityâ€"many of whom are children. For more information, visit www.sulzbachercenter.org.

My girlfriend and I will be there. This was our first date in 2005 and has become an annual tradition. Going on four years though, I might need to make her more than just my girlfriend though.   :)
