Lunican, Jax may have offered tourists more in the past than today.  Maybe our current leaders take a cue!  What year is this?  Looks to be circa late 1900's to 1920's.

One thing for sure, April and May, along with October and November, are our nicest months of the year here.

It's from March 17, 1923. Also, the top illustration looks like Klutho Park.

The ad says "Band Concerts are given daily in beautiful Hemming Park".  That was my guess based on the band shell that used to be there before the City "improved" the park by removing it!  The drawing matches the shell in the historic photo below:

Haha.  What would a "dirty" sport have been back then?  Boxing?  Pool? Cockfighting?  That's about all I can think of, what else?

I guess this was long before the city decided it was too good for tourism and "banished" the industry to Central FL.  Totally worked out for us.
