^nice post. Glad it worked out for you.

I may have been admitted to Hope Haven around 1941-2 as a child with Polio. I remember the building well in the 40's and 50's as I grew up in the area. I have a recurring image (possibly my earliest memory) of being driven by my parents through an iron arched gate towards a building to have an operation. It was a frightening moment and I carried a fear of the place whenever I went by it later. I have carried this puzzle with me all my life and would like to answer it. My parents never told me about it.

Does anyone have pictures of Hope Haven especially its entrance from the street for cars? Is there any way to trace its records?

About fifteen years ago, I acquired my 1951 hospital records from Hope Haven by calling Nemours Children's Hospital. The records were sent to me after signing a release form that Nemours sent to me . I do not remember the number that I called, but this number is listed on-line
904-390-3600. At that time the records were on microfiche and mine were hand written. Many of the words were not readable, but I was able to get the main idea. If this number doesn't get you to the records department, ask for the main number and explain to them that you are are looking for your hospital records from Hope Haven.
