Ouch - That's out of 40.  I'm not convinced about the Natural Disaster Risk considering that we haven't "truly experienced" a hurricane in 45 years & even that produced minimal fatalities (criteria?).........

these lists are dumb. chicago & la are high on the list. while orlando is low.

ridiculous.

Ugh, why even post about these stupid lists?

They serve zero purpose to any company looking to move anywhere, and same goes for residents.

I would tend to agree, however, it wasn't like some obscurity - it's the front page splash on Yahoo - & Forbes does carry some merit.

Yeah, but how/where do they come up with these numbers?

If we went by numbers, my hometown of Murfreesboro would top the list. Three tornadoes, one an EF4, in 1 week and 6 days sounds pretty bad to me.

QuoteThese metros have the lowest rates of violent crime, workplace deaths, fatal crashes and natural disasters.

I'm sure Jacksonville's crime rate has a lot to do with the ranking.  Other than that, natural disasters are something we're lucky to have to deal with so little.
