This is way too much for me.  Darn kids and their technology.

It's just some design firm having fun. Good luck fitting more than a couple of gigs in that thing and the battery would last all of 10 minutes.

Could it not be powered like those watches that capture enregy from your motion?

A silly idea for a music player to be sure, but such technology is on the way.

Why not just have apple transplant an Ipod directly into your brain? You think of a song, and it wirelessly downloads it and charges you .99. Just stand near speakers and it starts playing.

Give me a plain ole USB stick or Pandora or Shoutcast for my cell phone.

Never liked iPods or Zens, altough the Zune was decent, but even gave that away.

Nah, if you've ever seen the pendulums in an auto watch, they take up the majority of the space inside the casing. In theory, you could make something that could be like that in a ring shape but it would most likely be the size of a large bracelet, nevermind the fact that the power produced would never come close to powering a media player.

Also, I found the original page for the ring and it's a few years old and supposed to be a bluetooth controller for an ipod, not the device itself, that's a lot more plausible but kinda dumb. http://www.yankodesign.com/2007/09/04/iring-controls-your-ipod/

I thought about this yesterday, but then I wondered about people with ADD, ADHD, or just a generally short attention span.  I think a device like this isn't too far off.  I can see a watch with an LCD screen that would play songs videos etc.

Give away the rings and sell the songs, sounds like a razor and blade strategy.
