Tebow To The Jags?

Doesn't matter if he can play a lick... He's got all the stuff that Southron ledgends are made of, IE: "Hometown boy does good..." That's 1/2 the battle right there. The other half are those not apparent to our resident Yankee's, such as "We got him IN UNIFORM!"  He talks like us!  Tebow knows the code, if a Southron coach points to "Yonder" he understands where "Yonder" is. He could easily be voted a future "Good ole' Boy."  The boy  knows that "fixin" can be used as a noun, a verb, or an adverb. He LIVES here! Calls our town "Home." Went to high school in Jacksonville. He's a member of First Baptist Church of Jacksonville (that accounts for about 2/3RDS of the executives with corporate buying power in town). He's a GATOR! He'll NEVER use a metrojacksonville pseudonym like "TUFSU1" or "FSUJAX". He's from a winning tradition. Tebow understands the difference between a conniption fit and a hissy fit. He's never paid $25 dollars to watch some fool feed the damn alligators. He like collard greens, ham hocks, and grits.  He knows what to say, and how to act in a room full of Jefferson BY GOD Davis' descendants. Stephendare and I can both speak to him and understand EVERYTHING he says. No matter how bad he played last week, Tim knows there is NOTHING that can happen on the field that a large plate of fried chicken won't fix. When he explained the blown play, he said "He caught himself lookin..." This is something EVERY Jacksonville, born and bred citizen fully understands. It's been reported that he once taught SOUTHRON as a second language.

The boy is a win - win - win situation!

Man, after seeing his performance in the Senior Bowl, I've downgraded him even more so. His foot work is horrible, under or over throws, and got stripped of the ball and fumbled. He needs quite a bit of work and the experts and coaches really grilled his azz after yesterday's horrible performance.

Our work is needed on the OL and Defense, not another QB. Although I wouldn't complain if Colt McCoy found his way to our sidelines.

Quit thinking sports and start thinking business y'all. Whatever Tebow is or isn't, lunitic or zealot, straight or gay, etc... his ability to draw the media and fans like fly's to honey is undeniable. Gator Nation loves him. We better pray the Jag's get him, and get him tomorrow, because Tebow brings one sure thing to Metropolitan Stadium...
If he fills the seats, I don't care if he wears his cleats on his head, just go after him quick.

"CHA - CHING", "CHA - CHING", "CHA - CHING!"

Actually I think his biggest draw is he is the Good Christan boy, to alot of people.

??? He's a good kid and an outstanding athlete.  Whatever he does in the future, he has behaved in a manner that most of us respect and admire and he has a record on the football field that is unquestionably fantastic.  Why the sour grapes?  We should applaud the college athlete's that behave like gentlemen and ladies and act as good examples.  We should condemn those that get the most exposure in our media, the wannabe thugs and dopers, the wife/girlfriend beaters and the loudmouth boors.

I tire of the Tebow talk too, but he has done nothing but what he was supposed to do. The haters must hate.

If they don't do it, who will?

Double tool!  Jax would be a bad move for him.  If he and the Jags don't perform and win a lot of games, Gator Nation will quit filling the seats in Jax and go back to watching the winning ways of UF.  IMO, for his own personal reasons, he needs to play out of town.  Win or lose out of town, Gator Nation will still love him.

The winning ways of UF are soon to become fewer, IMO.

Take that, Dan Hicken!

NotNow, maybe because a number of us are sick of the media circle jerk for this guy the past 4 years and counting. Yes, he's a great person, good college athlete, but after seeing performance during the Senior Bowl, not so sure. We'll see at the combine next week if he has evolved, or if his draft stock will stay unchanged or plumet further. Besides that, I'm sick of hearin about him, and the Gator fans needs to STFU because the Tebow era is over, he's old news now, and it is time to move on. I'm also not a fan of his preachy style of talk and all, it has gotten old.

Bucket: Better record next year, Jags or Gators?

It's amazing to me how God has overlooked all the bad doings in this world in order to make sure Tebow played good college football.

Reed,

He won the Heisman, he won some National Championships.  He was on a local (sorta) team that did good.  He is a religious kid, but hardly "preachy".  He is a college football player.  Lighten up.
