I just updated my computer with Internet Explorer 8 and now have problems editing posts that extend beyond the length of the box.  Anyone else having this problem?  Does MJ need to update for compatibility?  Or is it me?
Hey!  Whatever happened to just plain ol' COMMON SENSE!!

It's you. :D  Get Firefox or Safari.

I kid.  Sorry you're having problems.  I use Firefox and/or Safari only so I can't really help.

Yes i'm having that problem too. I believe if you try to run it in compability mode (that broken page icon next to the address bar) it may run smoother.

I noticed when I try to modify post that the cursor jumps around like crazy when I try to edit the content. Not sure what form of java/htlm etc MJ uses, but it defintely f's with you in IE8.

David, thanks very much.  Your suggestion is working fine so far.  MJ needs to work on fixing the IE8 issue as more people upgrade to it.  I use Firefox on some PC's and IE on others.

This is actually an IE 8 bug that Microsoft is aware of but has not fixed yet.

http://www.microsoft.com/communities/newsgroups/list/en-us/default.aspx?dg=microsoft.public.internetexplorer.beta&tid=b95398ac-e5cc-4642-9c9f-d85d08deeac6&cat=en_us_2BAF8EC5-645C-4477-A380-0F1CF6C102F9&lang=&cr=&sloc=&p=1

We'll see if we can implement a workaround for it but right now I would just use compatibility mode or another browser.

Interesting.  Another "not ready for prime time" Microsoft release.  I am beginning to find that IE8 results in instability ("i.e." [no pun intended!] - crashes of the program) on some web sites.  What a nightmare.

This is quite an embarrassment for Microsoft.

QuoteIE8 runs 10 times faster with Google plug-in
Chrome Frame instantly boosts Microsoft browser's JavaScript performance

Computerworld - Microsoft's Internet Explorer zips through JavaScript nearly 10 times faster than usual when Google's new Chrome Frame plug-in is partnered with the browser, benchmark tests show.

According to tests run by Computerworld, Internet Explorer 8 (IE8) with the plug-in was 9.6 times faster than IE8 on its own. Computerworld ran the SunSpider JavaScript benchmark suite three times each for IE8 with Chrome Frame, and IE8 without the plug-in, then averaged the scores.

Released Tuesday, Chrome Frame lets IE utilize the Chrome browser's WebKit rendering engine, as well as its high-performance V8 JavaScript engine. Google pitched the plug-in as a way to instantly improve the performance of the notoriously slow IE, and as a way for Web developers to support standards IE can't handle, such as HTML 5.

The extra speed and HTML 5 support are necessary, said Google, if IE users are to run advanced Web applications such as Google Wave, a collaboration and communications tool that debuted last May.
