I like the cookies they make but they tend to run out in the early afternoon.

Must be good if they have Summertime by DJ Jazzy Jeff and The Fresh Prince on their myspace....

I really dig that name; the "Cool Moose Cafe." It is SO Jacksonville and North Florida though we have no moose in our state.  The Owners have to be from Minnesota, Wisconsin or Maine.

Cool Moose is our regular Sunday brunch spot.  Can't get enough of the Hello bagel-everything bagel, a schmear, garlic, tomato slices and lox.   Good selection of specials for lunch and brunch as well.  Great atmosphere, exposed brick walls, high ceilings, good vibe.   Warning, don't go when you're in a hurry.  Slow down and enjoy!

The owner is from Maine.

I lived in Riverside for quite a while before trying this place, but I am glad I finally did. It has a nice atmosphere, good food and coffee, and really good prices. Makes for a good place to go Sunday morning when you had to much fun Saturday night.

"Cool Panhandler Cafe"

That's actually a pretty good name/idea. It could be a place that has like a whimsically lighthearted boxcar hobo theme.
Conformulate. Be conformulatable! It's a perfectly cromulent deed.

I love this place.  I had a Black Forest Ham & Brie sandwich.  So good.  I love the mix of casual and relaxed with a little upscale twist on the menu.

Cool Moose has a number of un-invited guests....Yuck....

QuoteJACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Creepy crawlers in the kitchen are the blame for at least temporary restaurant closures this month.

After state inspectors found 50 dead roaches in a cooler used to store bread on Oct. 15, Cool Moose Coffee on Park Street had to cool it for one day. One employee was also caught handling both dirty and clean utensils without washing his hands.

The Department of Professional Regulation found nine critical and 3 non-critical violations during an Oct. 15 visit. In a follow-up the next day, no violations were found and the Cool Moose was back in business.

50 dead roaches? How hard is it to clean up dead roaches?

Not the first place in Jacksonville. Another reason I prefer to eat at home.
