Help and Hope Ministries allows Nathan and Paula Mason, who live in Callahan, to help others in Nassau County and all the way to Regency and the south side of Jacksonville.  They handle home deliveries of food to those who are unable to take advantage of food banks or other agencies.
Nathan, an ordained Baptist minister, recently received his Doctor of Theology (Th. D.) from Slidell Baptist Seminary, Slidell, LA.  He also provides pulpit supply for several churches in Jacksonville.  Basically, pulpit supply means that if a minister needs not to conduct a service due to other requirements, Nathan is available to preach.
Help and Hope Ministries began operation in 1999 and “This is the first time we’ve been critical on contributions,” Nathan said.
Nathan and Paula work with the Second Harvest Food Bank and Gleaners Dispatch to get the food they distribute.  They will accept donations of non-perishable food items or cash.
Besides working alongside Nathan, Paula also helps at Gleaners Dispatch’s weekly free dinner at Callahan’s Multipurpose Building on Wednesdays from 5 â€" 6:30 pm.  Nathan, also a member of the Board of Directors for Gleaners Dispatch, is usually at the Monday food distribution at Callahan.
Help and Hope Ministries is a 501(3)(c) non-profit organization so any donations are tax exempt.  For more information, contact Nathan at (904) 879-5523 or send an email to hh4ufl@wmconnect.com.
May the road rise up to meet you.
May the wind always be at your back.
May the sun shine warm upon your face,
and rains fall soft upon your fields.
And until we meet again,
May God hold you in the palm of His hand.
