I'm looking for a home inspector for a townhouse I'm buying. Does anyone have a company they recommend?

Are you using a realtor? If so, they normally have good ones they recommend. After all, its in their best interest to make sure they protect you. Do not trust the seller's inspector, no matter what, and make sure you see the license and check it on the DPBR website to verify it is current and in good standing. You can also check the BBB to make sure no complaints have been files. As an added measure, check the Duval County Clerk's office to see if there are any pending judgments against the person. Its a lot, but its better to be safe than sorry.

To answer your question, I have used Wally Conway and his company in the past. No problems for me.

Doesn't the realtor represent the interests of the seller since that's who pays them?  I'd hire a real estate attorney and have them recommend an inspector.

It depends on the type of agent you get. There are agents that are buyers agent. We have one and she looks out for us. She may get paid from the seller but if we aren't happy there is no sale.

She recommended people, but I wanted to see who else would be recommended.
