omgeez.....at&t is ridic!

So...I've always been a little behind the times with cell phones/gadgets. So when i heard a new iphone was coming out, and the current one was only 99$ i knew it was time for me to check it out. So after work last Friday i went to At&t in the TC ready to purchase my "uber-cool" phone. When they ran a credit check, they told me i would have to pay 750$ as a deposit! I was shocked, and worried... i thought to myself "my credit isn't that bad". Then i remembered that i had gone into at&t in March to check out the iphone...and they told me i would have to pay 200$ for the deposit. How in the hell did it accrue 550$ in 3 months? So i spoke with the manager..and he basically told me, that with the release of the new iphone (and the current price reduction) that at&t has hiked up deposits and other fees to capitalize on the new buyer demographic. This is ridiculous... i understand that Apple is too cool for school and caters to "those who can afford it", but come on! Really?!
so needless to say... i politely went home to CL and purchased an unlocked one. At&t/Apple won't keep me from experiencing the full enjoyment of my delayed coolness!
