Evil Dead 2 at 5 Points Theatre, plus other upcoming films

Our midnight movie this week is Evil Dead 2, which should need no introduction...

We've also got The Soloist starting Friday.

The Film Festival starts next Friday.  The schedule is here:  jacksonville.bside.com/2009/schedule/week.
As you'll see, we've got most of the films this year.  We're really excited about it.

Because of the festival, we'll be showing a couple of popular movies a little later than they open.  We've got Star Trek starting May 22nd and Angels & Demons starting May 29th.  We're hoping people will wait a little while and see those movies with us, and a cold beer.

Finally, we've got Land of the Lost starting June 5th.  If you haven't see the trailer for this - you've got to.  It looks so strange and hilarious.

I was torn about whether to post this under Nightlife, or under Riverside / Avondale...

If you are still taking Midnight Movie suggestions...I think Akira would be really awesome to see.

Reports of the Film Festival's demise are greatly, and bizarrely, exagerated.  I'm glad I followed that link - it perked up my whole day.

They still got the correct site for the Festival, though...

We're talking about having Goonies and Pulp Fiction in late May.  It will get a little harder to have midnight movies over the summer because we're going to carry some first run movies, and they don't like to share.
