Certain Board Threads Fail to Make HOME Page Listing Most Recent Active Threads

MJ Webmasters:   I mentioned before that threads under certain topics do not make an appearance on the HOME page feature that list the LAST EIGHT active threads.  You can only see these threads if you open up the "Most recent posts" link.  Please look into this and see if ALL threads can make the HOME page.  Thanks!

Here are two examples that never showed on the HOME page, one with activity today.  (This post/new thread is likely to join them being posted under Feedback):

This isn't exactly the same, but I didn't want to start a thread just for this ...
When I log off the board, I always click the "Mark Forums Read" button.  But when I come back - say the next day - to "Show Unread Posts Since Last Visit" I get a whole bunch of "old" posts that have not been updated since before I was there the last time.  For example, last night I Marked Forums Read, when I log in this AM, there are posts from early yesterday showing up, again.  Can someone look under the hood and see why the "Mark Forums Read" button isn't working as expected?  Or maybe it's the "Unread Posts" feature that isn't working right?

hopefully the admin will help with that for you, Charles.....as I don't have the same problem. Although I never actually log off, which may be why I don't. When I mark all as read, then when I revisit the site and click on recent posts, I only get what has been posted since my last visit.

The politics thread, I believe isn't open to non-registered members, so no, it wouldn't show up on the main page.
