What's the real possibility of the SEC moving its championship game to Jax after their contract with Atlanta runs out in 2009?

I heard that they were quite happy in Atlanta. Is there really serious consideration for moving the game?

Jax would hardly be a neutral site if the Gators are playing, that's for sure.

It would be awesome, but i dont think it would be a possiblity, especially since Jax lost the ACC game, that might but a stain on any proposal jax makes for the game...

ATL hardly is a neutral site if UGA is playing.

Spin it around...no way that Jax gets the SEC game if they still had the ACC Championship.

Perhaps we would learn from our ACC mistakes. I think the logistics of teams playing in the ACC Champ game (B.C., VA Tech) was too enormous for Jacksonville to support. SEC teams typically travel much better than the ACC. If Jax can come up with a proposal that trumps ATL, who is to say ATL still looks attractive to them. Either way, I haven't heard any news aboust the SEC leaving ATL. Just hoping for somthing significant sportswise to come to the River City.  :)

Speaking of the ACC game attendance was roughly the same as Jax.
Tampa 2008 BC  vs VT 53,927 tickets distributed.
Jax 2007 BC  vs VT 53,212 tickets distributed.

I know that the S.E.C is very happy in the ATL, but why not  try to get that game here? The seating is limited in the GA Dome at 75-76k so we could put a potential crowd of 85-86k in JMS. Atlanta is making a strong bid to steal FL-GA from Jax. Thats one of the big differences with cities like Atlanta and Jacksonville, they put their names in the hat for a lot of different sporting events. I am not saying that Jax hasnt done well with that lately, but we cant rest on our laurels.
