Ok after the 1999 AFC championship lost it took me 3 yrs to watch the NFL again. After a Jags lost (especially a lost like vs the Titans) It usually takes just a week to get over the lost. Ok, now that we know the Jags will be watchting the SB on TV with the rest of us what do we need to do to get there and win(Jags that is). Serious replies only please.(the obvious, win every game  ;))

1. Coaching must improve(like Bilacheat without cheating) along with drafting and free agency.
2. Better play calling,
3.Players who want to win and not just collect a paycheck,
4.Balance team run/passing
5.Improve againts divisional foes
6.Play to win and stop playing not to lose.
7.Consitentcy through out the entire season, especially after the bye week,

It's too easy to just say improve on those things. The fact is, they need better players. They need better offensive linemen, the need better receivers, they need better defensive linemen and they need a real strong safety. When better players are here, it's amazing how much better the coaches will look.

And I could not disagree with you more on number 3. The players want to win every game. How else can you explain them winning in Indy and Denver?

Get Tim Tebow in 2010 draft. At the very least they could sell some tickets.

Its players not plays....Football is a team sport, but its also a beat the guy in front of you sport...We dont have the talent to win a lot of the individual battles. Our Guards cant beat their DT's, our tackles cant beat their DE's. Our WR cant beat their defensive backs...ect

But i am in NO WAY a fairweather fan....I will be at every home game, and I will renew my tickets for next year

NFL teams aren't run like that.

Tebow would definately be a huge plus for the team. I am sure he would love nothing better than playing for the NFL in his hometown.

Sorry MattnJax. If this guy played for FSU, Georgia, or any other team I would feel the same way. My main concern at this point is to sell tickets!

Whenever he is drafted, he isn't going to play right away anyway. Less than 1% of his snaps in college have been under center. He has never run anything close to a pro style offense.

You guys are missing my point! I understand the whole taking snaps from center and running a pro style offense argument. I just think that from a publicity standpoint it would do wonders for ticket sales and also boost our profile on a national level.

People are going to buy tickets to watch him sit on the bench? I doubt it.

MY GOD! Will you people stop and think. he is a Gator. he has a Heisman Trophy, he is probably the most recognized player in college football, and he is from Jacksonville1 Thats my point! I bnever said he is going to come here and lead us straight to the Super Bowl.

Why would people buy tickets? Because his name is on the roster? No, they want to see him play. He won't play as a rookie.
